I can't see them moving De Leon or Holmes for Latos. I'm guessing Cotton.

Oh no doubt. I was talking about a trade for Cole Hamels

Yeah from what I read it sounded like taking Morse's contract was the biggest asset to the Marlins in that deal, not any prospects of note

That's a fair price. I love all three guys but Chi Chi doesn't miss enough bats and should profile more as a 3 or 4. I'm on the fence of how well Alfaro will hit. Mazara is Mazara. He's the center piece and well you have to give something to get something. I'd have to get some money back in return though. And while they would want Mazara, they could settle with Nick Williams and it should still be enough to get Hamels.

That is definitely not a fair price. A few scouts are saying that not only is Mazara probably the best Rangers prospect, but he might be the best prospect in baseball.

I think a package of Nick Williams, ChiChi, Alfaro and maybe one other small prospect gets it done. That is better than anything the Dodgers can offer if they don't give up Urias or Seager.

Yeah, basically the Dodgers bought Latos from the Marlins for money, not prospects. Which considering the franchises, may be the least surprising transaction of the deadline.

I try not to get overly attached to magic beans as prospects flame out all the time. I think Mazara+ for an ace is pretty fair. A majority of the time I'll side with proven elite MLB production over MILB talent. I get the other side of the argument as well... especially coming from a Rangers fan and being one too. We'll just agree to disagree.

Sounds like a bidding war between Dodgers,Bluejays and Yankees for Price.

Ok, i know Yankee fans and the NY media liked to embellish the yankee farm hands, but how can they out bid either of those teams???

I imagine the other teams, especially the Dodgers, aren't offering their best prospects

huh? Embellish Yankees system was ranked 16-18 at the start of the season, 2 spots below the Cards by many. Yankees have top talent but not organizational depth

Cards had 3? The point? Both pkayers are highly regarded prospects, not top 10, and teams are inclined to want them. Plus the Yankees have other guys who have performed well and will show up next year in the top 100 that teams are asking about.

Yeah but haven't they said that Severino and Judge are hands off? Kind of limits what the Yanks could do without one of them included
