Aaron Craft is wallowing in the D-league ever since being the Big Ten Defensive player of the year TWICE.

The NBA is racist.

Yes, he would. Also, if he were a better player.

Next question.

Had I been the GM of the 49ers I would signed Sam and quashed any locker room homophobia quickly. He might not have played and he might have just been a waste of a roster spot, but the money from Michael Sam mdse sales in the Bay Area gay community for just a few years would have made it worth it.

Good thing you're not a GM!

I could win with 52 man roster and one homosexual player. Plus my owner wouldn't care from all the cash he was taking in from the massive support we would have from the gay community. Mdse sales, tickets, ratings we could be set for decades of goodwill hell we could get a new stadium built again.

Sam would rather play in the prison football league. The after parties would be fabulous.

That might have been part of it. I do think he was given less of a chance compared to others in the NFL because some teams didn't want the extra media attention or potential problems with homophobic teammates.

bullshite, they didn't want to deal with the media hype. If you drafted him and then he sucked (figuratively, we know he does actually) you'd risk a hassle for no good reason.

It's interesting that the SEC defensive player of the year two years ago never made it in the NFL.

No, it isn't. There have been Heisman trophy winning players who weren't even drafted.

He was given more of a chance than Myron Rolle, he was too smart for the NFL

Not true at all. Rolle quit football to study overseas and then came back a year later for the draft. He slipped in the draft after a year off because teams questioned his commitment but he was given every chance and he eventually quit, as was expected.

And was still one of the best at his position.

Teams only asked about his academics, and he was adamant that he only wanted to play football

False. He never made a start in the NFL. He came around right when the whole concussion thing was being discussed, and teams feared he would be an advocate for brain injury.

You guys realize that The average CFL salary is $82k right? Canadian dollars. Sam didn't make it in the NFL because he's not good enough. If he had any mental smarts he'd be making more as a professional white collar worker......

Maybe he thinks he's still good enough and this is his way of proving it. He has plenty of time to be a "professional white collar worker," not so much time to be a professional football player.

And shite, maybe he just loves playing football.

He didn't quit. He got cut. He was on the Steelers' preseason roster one year and was a fan favorite.

In other news, a below average white football player that doesn't take it also signed with a shitty football league except it isn't on the news for some reason
