Not going to happen. Missouri is a better fit in terms of fan base and recruiting potential.
If Memphis ends up in a BCS conference, the Big East gets the nod IMO.

I want a football power added. Missouri wouldn't be horrible(neither would Pitt), but I'd much prefer ND.

The USM game is the Black and Blue Bowl. There is a lot more emotion and animosity there. A couple of years ago, Memphis fans painted the eagle statue on USM's campus blue after they upset them.
Ask any Memphis fan which school they consider a bigger rival, and they will say USM.
I mean, how much do LSU fans care about Arkansas? That's your "trophy game".
But what the frick should I know about teams in my own conference?
I mean, they've played UAB a whopping 11 times compared about 60 times vs. USM.

Nobody in the Northeast wants Memphis in the Big East. Nothing in common with Big Easts chools and doesn't bring any thing to the table, football wise.

USM might be their historical rival in football. Maybe it's the local B'ham media that makes it seem that way since they play up the UAB game with Memphis every year. That and UAB had beaten them several years straight until last season.
