Guys OKC is still your 4 seed. Being third option limits the effect Melo can have on a game. That's why we said all along that with melo or with ryno CC is the second best team relying on a GSW injury for the title. I couldn't be more happy for ryno getting to stay on with a powerhouse like CC instead of being shipped off somewheres else. He deserves to play for a winner. He's a great guy and I'm sure with his name in trade talks all summer it wasn't a very pleasurable couple months. Welcome back ryno.
Melo good luck. We know you had a house picked out in Houston, had word from the knicks that you were CC bound. Things change and we ok with that. YOU saw where the best chance for you to win was. Just like chris did a few months ago. Your respect for the CC organization is evident.

Then you factor in Russ being more efficient without having to do as much.

CC was already much much better than OKC. Not just a little. There was a massive gap. So yes adding those two is a better than adding Paul but let's not pretend that it gets them on the level of CC.

The frick there was. OKC w/Russ on the court outscored the Rox by 4.9 points per 100 possessions in the playoffs. Now you're adding two very dynamic playmakers, one of whom is a top 10-12 kinda guy.
We also can't discount the fact that George and Melo both are on a great team for the first time in a looooong time. They'll be motivated more than ever and it'll show up on the court.

OKC was below average last year on offense. Houston was a top ten offense in the history of the league. The diff in net rating between OKC and HOU was the same as the difference of OKC and Sacramento. That's how close they were.
Oh and now CC ADD three great perimeter defenders and the third best playmaker in the game.

If stats don't convince you I don't know what will bubba. OKC beat Rox in the playoffs with Russ on the court. Now they got two very good players. OKC third best team in the West at worst.
