With Tim Hardaway, Jr. heading to New York, they are much more hurried to unload Melo.
You heard it here first. A New York Twitter guy who is supposedly very trusted for Knicks info says it's as good as done.

I hate the addition of Melo. My trust in DM is deteriorating

Not just that guy from NY. But Woj reported the same:

The Knicks' acquisition of Hardaway Jr., to the staggering deal is expected to trigger a renewed willingness to work with the Houston Rockets on trade scenarios to unload Carmelo Anthony, league sources told ESPN.
The Rockets have been persistent in their pursuit of Anthony, who is willing to waive his no-trade clause to join Chris Paul and James Harden in Houston, league sources told ESPN.
The Knicks do not imagine a scenario where Hardaway Jr., is sharing the floor with Anthony to start the season, league sources told ESPN.

Im very excited about this, but I imagine for very different reasons from Rocket fans.

Yep. He's coming. Before I welcome melo I gotta thank ryno for coming to HOU and being a key cog in last years team. We wish you the best of luck. You're a Class act.

It's either going to be incredible or an absolute train wreck. Even if it's incredible, the Rockets aren't beating GS unless there's a slew of injuries, so at least it will be entertaining either way.

Don't forget Wade.
Banana Boat + Harden
Starting line up will be the banana boat:
PG: Paul
SG: Wade
SF: LeBron
PF: Melo
C: Whoever
Bench: Harden, Gordon, Ariza
Harden is the little donut being tugged

You a team spokesman now?

I think it would make them a better playoff team. The playoffs are all about star talent. The more star options you have, the harder it is for a team in a series to key in on your best player.
Carmelo is better at the 4 than he is at SF.
I don't see Carmelo not buying in like in NY because Harden and Paul DID buy in. It would be much more likely that Melo would also be on board when Harden, Paul, and D'Antoni all believe in what they are doing and Harden and Paul trust D'Antoni.
He'd be the 3rd banana in Houston instead of the first option.
It's certainly a risk. It could be amazing or it could turn out bad. It's a volatile move for sure. But if you really wanna compete with Golden State, it may be a risk that you have to take.

No I only speak for myself and like minded CC fans. That's not all fans or the organziation.

B if melo went to another contender CC would be mocking the move
Now we're trying to stomach it down like bad medicine

Prime nailed it. The Rockets have two top 7 players. Gotta take risks to get a title. We may not have a player like Harden for another 20 years. This Golden State team is pretty unstoppable, but the Rockets are closing the gap some.
The Rockets are basically betting that Melo goes full international mode. And if that bet hits, the Rockets will be scary as frick.

He's a guy that playing for a contender at this point in his career would bring out the very best in him. A la when sheed wallace joined the pistons.
