He's a beast. Basically white KD clone

His release is way too slow right now and he gets no elevation on his shots. He'd be eaten alive at the higher levels

That kid is 7’ tall and fat. That’s really hard to do at 15. And he’s playing against a bunch of pre-puberty kids but he still doesn’t look that good

You think KD had perfect form in high school? This kid will get that elite form soon and he’ll dominate

Aside from the obvious weight gain, Chet Holmgren is good... really good. Insane amount of skill.

HS is Minnehaha, which is loaded. In addition to Holmgren, they had: Jalen Suggs (five-star Gonzaga commit, but was a four-star QB), Kaden Johnson (four-star OLB at Wisconsin), Terry Lockett (three-star WR at Michigan State), Prince Aligbe (four-star in 2022), Chase Carter (multiple basketball offers, but just got ISU and Nebraska football offers), and Donovan Smith.

Couple of these kids are playing football in college, but they are a fun group. Minneapolis has been pumping out quite a few big-time basketball players.

Minnehaha did play an OOS schedule, too, FWIW. Absolutely obliterated Sierra Canyon. Went into Wisconsin and beat La Crosse Central, which has three Division I players, including two Wisconsin commits.

Idk if I've ever seen a more accurate comparison than him and Durant. Holy shite

Except he looks more physical. Dude can play. But yeah it’s crazy he is shaped exactly like a young Kevin Durant.

Yeah he is going to be another 100 pounds and bumbling around the court if he is that fat at 15.

Skinny boy Chet will fill out that weight now that he is not growing anymore. And he is better.

Nothing wrong with being skin and bones when you grow to 7 ft in high school

A lot of kids lose that baby fat as they grow older. Think about how soft OL and DL look in high school compared to when they finish college.

They aren’t 7’. 7’ 15 year olds are always stick skinny. This kid is obese compared to most 7 footers

He was making a comparison and exaggerating
He doesn’t look nearly as skinny as most 7 footers his age do

He makes KD look like Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Kevin Durant was less than 200 lbs in high school too and lied about his height to make himself look thicker.

Their sizes at this age are VERY comparable. Kevin is more athletic though, he had crazy good handles. This kid is solid in that department, but KD was shaking people off the dribble in top levels of high school basketball.

BTW, 7'9 Robert Bobrozki is still unsigned in this year's class.

That's different though, would be such a risk signing that guy knowing every time he eats food has to make it all the way down that long arse neck without choking him to death. Personally, that's not a gamble i'd be willing to take.

You don't make it 7'9 without health issues. It's kind of sad, there's a reason he's unsigned. You can see him struggle to make it up and down the court and jump.

Right. It’s going to take a few years for him to even figure out how to maximize that kind of length he has and build up some strength. Better to do it now than have a growth spurt at 19ish
