I think Henry's numbers are already historic for SEC play. I think.

Correct.

Melvin had an all time great season last year. Henry is on pace to break SEC records rather easily, and in Herschals record, on less carries. To say he isn't have a historic season is disingenuous. I'm not claiming it's the greatest of all time but it's certainly historic. He's absolutely deserving of the Heisman this year regardless of what team he plays on. I don't know Cooks numbers off the top of my head, but I feel pretty certain that Henry is not "far" behind him.

Bama's. OL. Is. Not. Very. Good. This. Year.

It's the biggest WTF of the year for Bama, because C-Rob was great last year, Kelly is a very good Center, and Dom Jackson is supposed to be a road grader. They have their moments, but overall they don't mesh well. Henry's speed and open field vision is why he has been a beast.

Maybe the WTF is you misperceiving it, perhaps because you are spoiled by better OLs in the pass. I think its a lot more likely that you are just frustrated by their pass blocking or tendency to give up negative plays that you don't realize that "their moments" are enough to make them a very good offensive line. I doubt they got that much worse or "don't mesh" when they have a great running game.

Right but you called him the most talented skill position player in the country. I'm not talking about deserving the award or not. His numbers in most years would certainly warrant the discussion for the award.

I consider 7.9 YPG vs 6.1 YPG far behind.

Who is down playing Henry's season?

You clearly haven't watched many Bama games this year.

Henry has been making plays out of nothing because of his speed and power.

How about you go do some film study on every Bama game this year, and then come back when you are more informed. Thanks.

Cook has 84 less carries than Henry. That's incredible.

ETA: This both helps and hurts Cook, imo. It helps because it shows how superbly talented he is. It hurts because we know he has less carries because he hasn't been durable this season.

So out of all the different statistics that you track for running backs, Cook has a wide lead in one of them, therefore his season is "far" beyond Henry's?

And why didn't you address the rest of my post at all?

Not to mention the fact that Cook's ypc would undoubtedly go down with 84 more carries.

Close to Henry's, but he would be well over 2,000 yards rushing.

He is. He's far more versatile than anyone else while still accumulating over 1,600 yards rushing. His season has been phenomenal and worthy of the Heisman.

Stanford doesn't get nearly the coverage that Alabama does, and that's what it's all about.

The Heisman has evolved to something else though. It's now "who's playing the best, on the best team at the end of the year" award.

How about this:

They're inconsistent.

But,

why can't he find the endzone a lot of times?

OK that's fine and your opinion. I would probably have about 5 to 6 other guys I would take before him given the choice.

Oh please this is so lazy. It's not like McCs numbers completely blow every other players in the country out. The play in a power five conference, are ranked relatively high, and play in the most populous state in the nation. It's not like if they played their games earlier he'd be a sure fire lock for the award. To boil it down to simple converge is just not something I can buy.

I know you keep saying this and that Bama's o-line sucks, but it's not true. According to football outsiders, they're statistically a good, not great, line. It's not the dominant line from years past, but it's still a good offensive line. I think you've just been so spoiled by the past lines that you can't seem to understand this.
