Mayweather and Pacquiao fought to a unanimous decision win in favor of Mayweather in their "Fight of the Century" on May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their lackluster performance angered over 4.4 million viewers across the globe prompting some of them to file lawsuits against Pacquiao, Mayweather and their promoters.

"The fans have to be mad at Pacquiao," Mayweather told Showtime's Phil Gray. They can't be mad at me. I've done my job. I never said I was a checkers player. I'm a chess player. I play chess. Every move is calculated. But the fans should've thought about that when I was running through everybody at one particular time," he added.

Well he's right. I'm no boxing aficionado but it seems I was one of the few who knew going in that Floyd fights weren't overly exciting. I think all these "boxing fans" that bought the fight thought they were gonna see a Tyson type fight. If u didn't know, it's your own dam fault

But Pac wasn't entertaining in this fight, that's Floyd's point. Don't blame Floyd, blame Pac.

It takes two to tango. Mayweather is maybe the least exciting guy to watch; that's his style, but it's on him. Paq fought him with a busted wing, hiding injury from the commission to not miss out on the payday. These things combined for the most ho-hum fight of the century possible.

Both of those guys deserve credit for that boring shitshow.

the true genius in pretty boy floyd is that he knows this, which is why he's adopted the super heel persona, so peole like prom hate him

everyone pays to watch him get beat. it's the only way he can create interest in his fights. he's a PR machine

Do you think Mayweather is fighting to entertain you or to win? His goal is to win, and he has accomplished that goal in all of his professional fights. You want athletes who put entertaining the audience ahead of winning watch professional wrestling.

Pac fights; floyd doesn't. You can't make someone swing. It's like saying Repukes should make dems be honest and respectable.

He's right. You knew Mayweather wasn't going to be throwing bombs so it was on Pac to throw down and he didn't deliver.

Mayweather won the exact same way he won all (or just about all) of his other fights.

He's right.

Don't know how else you can look at their fight. Floyd fought as advertised. Pacquiao didn't. Pacquiao was the one that let everyone down.

I had barely seen a boxing match before that one, but I find it both hilarious and sad that people get on him for how that fight went. Of course he was dodging and "hugging". It's called defense.

Then again the same people probably hated the 9-6 GotC so they can't be helped.
