If they consider Ramirez the centerpiece, I think we might have kept Olt.

No way does Theo take Ramirez as the centerpiece. I'd say Olt, Edwards, and Sardinas are the main pieces with Ramirez filling in for Garza.

Why not? He's one of our higher regarded pitching prospects, not far from being major league ready, can hit up to 97 on the gun, and has pretty damn good numbers right now. It seems they were insistent on Ramirez... so one would think he was an important piece in the deal. I don't think it's that far fetched.

Translation: they didn't like what they saw in Ramirez's medicals. He's has some shoulder issues in the past.

Reputable poster on the Cubs board says Olt's medicals were the hang up. I guess we'll only know if the trade goes through and one of those guys isn't in it.
I think Olt is a non-prospect, so I'm hoping whatever deal happens doesn't include him.
