Cubs source suggests mystery NL team could intercept Texas efforts and get Garza.

Any guesses who this might be?

Most likely the Dodgers who will put in a ridiculous offer and than sign him to a $150 million extension. And still be mediocre.

I'm thinking maybe the Braves. I don't know. Who else has the prospects to compete with Texas?

Not Cards

Same guy says it isn't the Cardinals

The Cubs. My guess is the Cubs think they can squeeze out a little something more from the Rangers. Thus, a "mystery team" had suddenly swooped in.

Pirates or the Cards are some teams with deep farms. LAD has good top end but no depth after all the trades. Nationals have a decent farm as well.

ETA D'backs have talent to trade as well.

Rangers loading up for another failed playoff run.

And our cards will make the annual "one pitcher move" for another LCS / WS run.

Cardinals do not need Matt Garza. He still needs to prove he can start 30 games consistently. His ERA will always be pretty mediocre and he probably won't get any better at 30 years old.

Also, Ramirez has been scratched from his start tonight. Looks to be done.

And heard it's Edwards, Sardinas, and Olt.

Nope. Still pitching per Jeff Wilson. Conflicting reports, but Wilson confirmed.

Well, now it might not be done.

If that means Clayton Kershaw may be available this offseason ...
