Because you can't put your hands on a fan, especially one that only instigated things by saying something stupid/derogatory. The fan should be barred for his history of inflammatory behavior but Smart shouldn't be above being disciplined either.

No I don't, I would be sued for assault and battery. It's my responsibility to act civily and ask the person to leave.
I don't agree with the fan. But smart needs to know that he is providing a service through entertainment, and you can't attack the customers.

Players have a code of conduct to abide by on and usually off the field/court as well. Fans also have a code of conduct (a ticket is a contract and many tickets printed from the box office have a list of rules on the back) that is far more lenient.
For the whole "protecting his dignity" crowd, can you imagine what would happen if opposing players took offense to "suck that tiger dick, bitch!" at LSU football games? As a player, brush it aside, be in control of yourself and do your job.

Exactly how I feel as well. Any middle aged man that says anything derogatory to a kid laying on the ground after a play needs to reasses his pathetic fricking life!!

You do have a right to BAN him from stepping a foot on your premises.

You dont ban the fan, but a 50 year old guy instigating and calli g a college kid a pice of shite should be ncredibly embarrassing. If that were a student, no issue, but for an old fat white dude to be at floor level like that talkng shite personally is pathetic. He should be shamed.

It looked like after the push, Smart was pointing at him saying, 'you know what you said, he called me an n-bomb.' Smart should have had more control IMO, but it seems like he heard something different than what was actually said.
