As a Browns fan (Lord help me) it's just time to cut him and move on....every week it's Johnny this and Johnny that, I'm sick of it. We'll be drafting top 3 again so Goff or Lynch could be our future as long as McCown doesn't screw up and start winning games.

Amazing he can't get his shite together and just keep a low profile for a change.

With that said, who are the Browns to tell him what he can and can't do with his free time? It's not like he was out fighting people or pulling guns on old ladies. FWIW, I don't even remotely like the guy, but I think the Browns are wrong in this situation.

Sure. They have every right to do what they just did. Doesn't make keep it from being ridiculous though

Never should have gone to rehab. Rehab shifts the story from Johnny likes to party to Johnny has a drinking problem.

Interesting. You think rehab shifted the story rather than the story being that he needed rehab? His "drinking problem" is a result of the rehab...not the other way around?

I think Pettine (sp?) has a problem with him anyway. He won't be coach for long though.

They think he has a drinking problem. I'm sure he promised them multiple times over that he was going to stop drinking, follow the steps, etc etc etc. Then he gets busted partying and drinking in Austin.

I'm conflicted by this quote...

(1) What he did in Austin might be "relaxing" for your average Joe that is Johnny Manziel's age. What he did in Austin as a starting NFL QB, who is ridiculed for his every move, is not "relaxing."

(2) Was his weekend "embarrassing" to the organization? Maybe I missed a video, but all I saw him do was rap to a song with a bottle in hand. Was his weekend a "distraction" to the organization? Sure, I suppose... Manziel went to a rehab facility for a "disease" that he likely does not have. More than likely he was advised to go in order to deflect the media attention elsewhere.

I suppose I just don't see the big deal, but maybe I'm still young myself with the same "going out" tendencies.

Playing in the NFL means you need a certain level of maturity. From the very beginning Manziel has shown how immature he was. Take Cam Newton for example. Big spotlight on him, roughly same age. Some say his on field antics are immature, but look where he's at now. 10-0 and playing the best football of his career. Johnny never grew up and made the sacrifices necessary to play the game.

I said it on the A&M board but the guy has been looking for excuses to not play him from pretty much the moment he was drafted.

this would be making sense if he hasn't shown legit growth this year

I'd bet that over half the NFL drinks as much as JFF did prior to rehab. I doubt over half the NFL are alcoholics who need medical treatment.

I say this with 100% sincerity. I've never seen 3-4 more posts in a single thread by one poster that were completely worthless and irrelevant like yours.

WCA obviously was just trying to convey that most NFL players drink and do what Johnny did. You taking his words strictly literal and arguing about it was incredibly pointless.

You didn't even try to argue that most players don't drink, just that 100% or 97% didn't. You're a joke
