Pacquiao, who is currently in Australia ahead of his fight against underdog Jeff Horn, says the Las Vegas blockbuster is in danger of being “boring” and is far from keen on watching the mashup.

The welterweight legend said McGregor’s novice skills as a boxer will be his downfall, and could very well lead to a painfully uneventful event.

“McGregor has no chance in this fight,” Pacquiao said in an interview with Yahoo Sports. “In fact, it could be very boring. There is no way he will be able to land a meaningful punch on Floyd.

“How could he? He has no professional experience in boxing.”

The 38-year-old said his aniticpation is much higher for another fight in the same arena. Current middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin is set to fight against challenger Canelo Alvarez three weeks after Mayweather’s fight against McGregor at T-Mobile Arena on September 16th.

“The real fight and the best fight is Golovkin vs. Canelo,” Pacquiao said. “[It will be] the best vs. the best. That’s the fight I will be watching.”

He's exactly right.

This is the best year for great boxing matches in over a decade, and Mayweather-McGregor is not one of them.

I mean, that's kind of his point. Pacquiao was one of the best and he couldn't do shite against Mayweather.

And that was a boring arse fight to watch.

McGregor isn't as skilled so logic dictates that everything Pacquiao said is highly likely.

I understand the sentiment behind this. But no professional boxing experience is not really a good reason to the "why he can't win or do well" question. Lack of skills, too slow, bad footwork, etc etc would be valid reasons. How can he land a punch? Uhhh by throwing his fist exactly where Floyd's face is?? That has nothing to do with résumé.

Disclosure: long time McGregor nut hugger who thinks Floyd wins 95/100 times. (but insert Lloyd Christmas" so you're saying saying there's a chance" gif")

Have you seen the unedited sparring he did against that boxer? He is going to get slapped around for ten rounds. By the time he swings and misses Floyd is going to hit him three or four times before he can even set up again to punch.

This is exactly why Mayweather should take a dive.

Did you even read my post?

1) I said Floyd wins 95/100 times
2) My whole point is that "no professional boxing experience" is not a valid analysis. I aint beating Usain bolt in a footrace and it has nothing to do with my lack of olympic experience.
3) Yes I've seen the footage against Van Heerdren. I saw it the day it came out. There is a lot to take away from the video that people gloss over.

Fighting is a weird sport where you can get out punched 100:1 and win.

Those all go into him have not professional experience boxing ie doesn't have good boxing footwork and isn't a fast enough puncher. This is like when Johnnie Mac said Serena would be 700th on the men's tennis tour. Where would Conor be on the boxing tour?

Let's put it this way, if you grow up and you are a good enough boxer, there is no way in hell you become an MMA fighter. Tenth highest boxer's net worth is $40 million. McGregor is only worth $32 million. By comparison Mayweather is worth $380 million.

You have it backwards. His lack of professional boxing experience comes from those things.

Also he is getting shite on for finely tuning his skills to a particular sport and then having the nuts to fight a different sport. Floyd isnt a "better puncher" than Conor. He is a better "boxer" than Conor. Fact.

But thats because Conor's stand up game is designed to have kicks loaded and to be able to defend take downs and clinches. So if Floyd were to fight MMA, his stand up game and footwork would be very wrong.

Now thats why i dont take too much away from that Van Heerden sparring video. Because Conor was in a purely MMA stance practicing MMA "boxing". Does anyone actually believe he will come out in a low crouching karate style stance to box???

It would just be nice if people would actually analyze this fight as opposed to saying things like "HES NEVER BOXED!? DISCUSSION OVER!!!!"

Right but how many professional boxers have landed that one lucky shot on Mayweather? Every boxer could land a lucky shot on Mayweather. I mean who knows, maybe Money lands on his foot wrong one time and McGregor catches him, but it hasn't happened in his other 49 professional fights, over 20 years.

Conor is also by far the biggest, and hardest hitter he's fought.
