I don't see how you would even attempt to gameplan against these attacking offenses.

Hurry up no huddle defense?

They are GIMMICK offenses

Face a fired up team that is physical, and they are shut down.

They will never win titles.

And next year everybody in the media will jizz their pants again the first time they score 70 on a garbage opponent.

It never ends.

Auburn in 2010 was way more physical a team than people give them credit for.

They don't run that offense.

And who did they beat?

Oregon and Baylor will never win a title unless they play each other.

Another difference between Auburn and the gimmick teams was that they had an elite defensive line.

Gus is literally trying to trademark the term Hurry Up No Huddle.

And we beat Clemson, South Carolina, LSU, Arkansas, Georgia, and Alabama.

I'm pretty sure we beat every kind of offense and defense you can play against.

Help me out here. I haven't watched a down of Oregon football this year, but I've watched every Baylor game. Please define how Baylor's offense is gimmicky. They do very little motion, no trick plays- I'm not seeing gimmicky with them.

2010 Auburn had an elite offensive and defensive line and centered the offense behind a power running game between the tackles to open up the O-Mac sweeps and the passing game in general.

They weren't built anything like these Oregon or Baylor teams.

I meant in the national championship. A reference to the title of the thread.

These teams have offenses that are mostly predicated on timing and rhythm. When they play a defense that can knock their timing and rhythm out of wack, it can look really ugly.

That's why I said they don't run the same offense. That's the difference. They had 2-3 backs who really knew how to run the football. They didn't spread the field, create mismatches in the middle of the field, and run a Seastrunk or Thomas through gaping holes opened up by the defenses having 6 DBs on field the entire day.

Oregon will score 70 on South Dakota next year to open up the season and Baylor will hang 70 on Northwestern State and the drum will beat about how they are unstoppable and this is the year they will go all the way

Rinse and repeat for 2015, 2016, 2017....

No denying that, but that's not the same thing as being gimmicky. Gimmicky is trick plays, lots of motion, etc., IMO. I'm probably being a bit of a homer and am definitely pissed at this game, but Baylor pretty much lines up and runs ball right at you. Their passing game definitely has moments when it relies on timing, but what teams don't. I wouldn't say theirs is overly dependent on timing plays.
