Mich would facefrick you guys with that castoff, but I hope you win the whole enchilada.
at your comment about the metrics dorks. I have come to enjoy rocket as a poster, but I think he barely looks at games and just follows what computer models say. It's why I couldn't believe Baylor wouldn't get a nod over TCU last year. THE determining factor between two teams has to be what happened on the field between them.

I hope Sparty chokes this week and UM gets to Indy. Rudock is a great kid, but Iowa knows every weakness in that kids game, and there are many.
I think UM iowa would be 1985 redux.

Worst case scenario is they drop Bama out in the next poll, but they will have to put them back in after the SECCG (assuming they win both)

Listen. Iowa can only play the teams on their schedule. Are they an elite team? No, but no teams this year are. Could they beat any of the teams in the top 6 on a neutral field? As good a chance as anyone else. The fact is, they haven't lost yet and they play in a p5 conference. They will have to win and get in. For some reason you guys seem to forget that these polls aren't final so arguing about it is pointless. So hawk down? or whatever you guys say.

I havent forgotten that, and I realize Iowa has always controlled its own destiny.
That said, I'm tired of these shills that don't watch anyone but their own team and blindly cite garbage metrics like SOS that is used in algorithms that rank teams like tennessee and USC higher than unbeaten power fives.
Iowa has nothing for which to apologize, especially to Notre Dame and Michigan State, who controls their own destiny to get a shot to prove they are better than Iowa.

If the Hawkeyes win out, they'll deserve to be ahead of ND, and if they don't, they won't be, so I really don't care that they're ahead now.

Because most reasonable people would believe USC and Tennessee would beat Iowa - handily.
Hell both those teams would be favored by more than a touchdown over the Iowa three star circus

Lulz. Okay. Stanford is top ten, Notre dames last ditch effort to get in. They were favored by how many at Northwestern?
They fricking lost.
Iowa crushed Northwestern with a third string tailback rolling up 200 yards and 4tds.
I know, ND lost a close one to Clemson and Jeff Sagarin says their schedule is amazing, even though 6/11 of their opponents have losing records and their best wins come against teams that play in a dogshit conference.
Seriously, it is time to shut the frick up.

Its not like you all will get left out if you win out anyways. The B1G and SEC have locked up spots unless all chaos ensues. Clemson is a lock if they win out as well.

It'll be hilarious once they lose and this guy never returns to forum

Don't play anyone and don't lose to the lowly teams you play. It's that simple.
Ohio State screwed up scheduling Michigan State. They were OK without that game.

Dude. Iowa wants nothing to do with Michigan in the big 10 title game.they have had a very good season but they would not be unbeaten had they played msu Michigan and Ohio st.

If they lose, they lose. Still a great season. I expected this to be a 4-8 team looking for a new coach, so I am happy either way, because I don't play the games.
Either way, I won't be here much past this weekend, as I don't have time. I didn't just show up here today either.

Michigan is playing with a Quarterback that was demoted to backup at Iowa.
I like their chances.

You keep saying this but have you watched any other team this season? I have watched Iowa against Wisconsin, Minnesota, and about half of Purdue. Their defense is good and causes turnovers, but their offense is God awful. I just honestly think lined up against another quality opponent they would get blown off the field, especially if the team limited turnovers.

Yes but that former Iowa qb is doing just fine where he is at. Beware. Much is way way better than I thought they would be in year one. They will best osu . Just gotta hope that psu can Beaty Sparty . But I will say this. If somehow Iowa wins the big 10 champ game, I hope they win the whole damn thing...

Ironic coming from somebody arguing what Iowa has done is less impressive than teams who have lost games LOL.
Doing a little bit of statistical analysis on the schedules and degree of difficultly to go undefeated and 1-loss is vital if anybody wants to have anything resembling an intelligent opinion on the matter.
Using the estimates I have given for the chance of a generic 5th ranked team winning each game on Iowa and Bama's schedule, the chances of such a team being undefeated now is 9.1% with Iowa's schedule and 3.9% with Bama's schedule. Impressive Bama. Oh wait, but Bama isn't undefeated! The chance of having only 1 loss with Bama's schedule is 16.8%.
Those of you who aren't stupid to do math can figure it out yourself and use your own estimate with various teams schedules. Not particularly important which estimates you use. That's largely opinion based. What it important is that regardless of the estimates you use, you will realize what a MASSIVE different there is in the difficultly of going undefeated vs losing only 1 game. People write those off as relatively similar feats since a 90% winning percentage isn't too far from a 100% winning percentage and then look to other metrics like strength of schedule. But people are notoriously bad at reaching logical conclusions when they try to guesstimate numbers in their head.

Tennessee wasn't even a full touchdown favorite against Missouri last week. But by all means, continue with the truth.

And the committee wrote it off when they brought up the bullshite time zone excuse.
