As a fan, I'm not thrilled with the decision, but I can see how it happened.
For every time he said he wanted to coach the Grizz, he followed it by basically calling the front office idiots.

All these teams should be targeting SVG, Imo.
Also, 4 teams this season set franchise win records, 3 of them fired their coach.. Maybe not technically, but you get the point lol. That's completely ridiculous.

I think there was a story a couple of weeks ago saying the front office was grooming him to replace hollins. Not really a surprise with all the shite hollins talked about management.

What's the third team? Clippers?
Clearly the Memphis front office thinks coaches are borderline useless, and they want a yes man who goes along with Hollinger and the rest of the analytics team. Considering how the team responded to the Rudy Gay trade and how Hollins thought it was a catastrophic personnel move, I can see their reasoning although I think it's too big of a risk right now.
They're defintiely not going to hire an old school coach like Sloan. I bet it will be an assistant from a team like the Spurs or the Rockets.

I finally start coming around to the grizz after 2 and a half years in Memphis and they go and do this shite. frick them. Get rid of a guy that takes you to the WCF for a guy that's never coached an NBA game in his life. My god, the grizzlies embody Memphis more than I realized. Controlled and run by incompetent fricking morons...just like the city of Memphis.
