too big of a gap between d1-2-3-4 for only 2 brackets.

so we like teams going to the Dome when they should have never been good enough?

Episcopal back to back undefeated seasons and back to back district champs! And it sounds like they will be rewarded with Newman in the first round..

they are for their class/size good enough...

FWIW the biggest blowouts in finals since intergration were either A-before the split or B- Did not involve "select" teams games - hence the 4 divisions is correct.

Might want to quit scheduling cream puffs in the non-district part of the schedule

. The schools had been interpreting an ambiguous rule the same way for three decades and the LHSAA randomly decides to interpret it another way on a whim.

I have no idea what this rule is. But if you know they might interpret a rule a certain way even though it may not be enforced or applied all the time. Why would you not work within the way they interpret it in order to avoid the possibility of it effecting you? What rule is this? Because the way you are saying this makes me think it is something right at the edge of the rules and the schools are using it to gain advantage knowing it isn't always enforced.

Schools have been using the previous spring semester’s GPA in determining whether it meets the C average for Fall eligibility because for Spring eligibility, the rule says you calculate the Fall GPA.

So what do they use if they can’t use the spring? Do they recalculate every test, or use quarter grades? I know some schools make kids sit out after first quarter, but I don’t know if that their choice or an LHSAA thing

No reason Episcopal can’t beat Newman.

Not really when you take into account that the strongest teams who are willing to challenge themselves play up. The next two years, whoever makes it to state in div iii will do so only because LCA and Curtis chose to play up.

making it to state is still pretty dang meaningful

How do? Doesn’t EVERYONE make it before the season even starts?

I get that WINNING in the post season is meaningful, but simply making it? No.

So, based on competition, the split within the selects is okay, but not a public / private split?

As for me, I’m consistent. The split is stupid in both aspects imho.
