oh yes they were hence the play up ONE class part..

The Catholic League schools have fully supported play-all-the-way-up proposals in the past. They have supported anything that would get the Catholic schools back together. The one-class proposal was the only one that could get passed. Period.

Now, do I think Rummel wants Curtis in 5A considering the talent pool and proximity? No. But even Rummel wanted the Catholic League back above all else.

NO they have not... they were some of the main ones for play in your class until it affected their district...

I have talked to the principals and AD's involved...

The catholic league is very against play all the way up. in fact when HC's numbers were gonna be 3a.. they still proposed only playing up one class..

Allowing teams to play up but requiring it be all the way up and then reclassifying once those teams make the election makes WAYYY too much sense.

What they should do is a combo of this, and using a multiplier to account for private school enrollment.

So a private school with 400 students gets counted like they have 520. Then, once that is all figured out, you see which schools want to further go up in class, and make them go all the way up.

A complete split is not the answer.

Neville is already basically a charter school. Have any of you seen their zone? Its horrible. My cousin used to have to pick up kids that lived right across the road from richwood (South Monroe) and take them all the way to Neville (North Monroe) for summer workouts. Wonder how much better richwoods basketball team would be if Neville didn't zone in what should be richwood.

These boundaries were determined by federal government years ago and have since been redone a few years back

With Neville being able to get any kid from Wossman and Carroll due to their failing grade basically makes them a Charter now. Not Neville's fault those schools suck.

I thought only private schools had the voucher system? I know some St. Fred people are complaining because these athletes that went to wossman or Carroll can now go there for free and they are taking people's positions.

I remember back when evangel went to 5a, most of those schools couldn't wait to get them back down and away from there. In fact evangel has played and won championships in every classification except for AAAA.

Wait a second. Curtis will be playing football against De La Salle, Lusher and McMain? That's ridiculous! What are the scores of these games going to be?

Its all bullshite until they force the private schools to play in their own class. No way in hell is it right that private schools can recruit players from anywhere and compete against public schools.
