I do enjoy the hypothetical about LSU only being able to recruit Louisiana, but Alabama could recruit the entire country. The two schools would not be playing under the same rules. The pool to draw athletes would be much larger for Alabama.

Exactly.

Its two sets of rules.

Know what the eligibility requirements are for a private school athlete?

You have to live in the attendance zone in question or sit out a year, with permanent bans for anyone determined by the LHSAA for anyone recruited to the school purely as an athlete.

When I was in HS, we had people who moved in from other parts of the US and even Canada who had to sit out a year because they didn't live in the proper district.

That conveniently ignores the part where "all LA athletes who didn't go to Bama would HAVE to go to LSU."

Oh, now I'm an idiot?
I'm simply saying schools that recruit should have to compete for championships against other schools that recruit.
I was not trying to single out any one school. The comment I made earlier about Evangel should not have been made. I apologize for that statement.

Dunham's basketball coach is also an AAU coach. If you think that's because he loves basketball, you're quite naive.

So you don't believe in private industry? You think the state has to control everything?

Its the equivalent of a Dodgeball game, except one side gets to pick all their players before the other side.

The FBU coaches for North LA were from Evangel and Calvary.

Dunham is average. Can you please provide some other anecdotal evidence?

You're an idiot because you were saying ALL private schools recruit, which is far from the truth.

Some private schools may recruit, but the LHSAA should deal with them using an enforcement office rather than frick over 80+ other private schools because some bitch in Winnfield has her panties in a twist over Curtis.

Dogeball game. People have to pay 100 bucks to play on one team, all other get to play on the other for free. I'm down!

And, boom goes the dynamite!

Follow the same rules if you want to compete for the same championship.

Bingo.

You can add Evangel into that list too.

This all could have been avoided had the problem been addressed by the LHSAA. But, they chose to punt time and time again, and the public schools got tired of it.

But the Louisiana athlete would have a choice. If top Louisiana athletes were actively recruited by Alabama and regularly chose Alabama, that would be unfair to LSU because its talent pool would be dried up with no opportunity to look elsewhere.

If this was a real argument then there would be no public schools in existence. Obviously this is not the case. I guess Barbe doesn't exist in baseball and Peabody doesn't exist in basketball.

I didn't say Alabama, I said SEC schools.
They can get your kids to move and go to their schools, but it is verboten to get kids from their states to play for you.
