If the games are on, I'll be there.
Are you not taking part in the strike or has the issue already been resolved. I assume it's the former.

i'm glad to see that this is about the kids and not about extra money for a side job

The principals, on the other hand, have a moral responsibility to make sure that kids are as well-educated as possible; part of that is making sure that extra-curricular activities are as organized as possible.
That is, the principals failed here. They know they'll end up dishing out the raise, so why'd they vote against it in the first place? The only thing the "nay" vote will accomplish is getting a couple games canceled. Had they voted "yea," everything would have been fine.
$31 isn't enough to get someone to officiate a basketball game anymore. Shame on the principals for not realizing that.

Yea I kind of figured.
I'll take your word for it then. There are rumors flying around everywhere I guess. Our coach had already sent the email out to the parents and players saying the game was cancelled. And I had talked to him and he confirmed it. But if it's back on, then that's awesome.

FYI, i Ref 7 days a week and make enough to consider it more than just supplemental

And I doubt that the guy who wrote that article for Rivals even saw a tape of the game, let alone actually went to it.
He was at the game actually.

Hmmm, so there were 14 pass interference calls in the game? Really?
Close to that, definitely double digits.

And not only that, but all of them were bad, right?
2 were legit.

Let me know if anything changes.

I'm not taking sides here, some of these remote games are far out there and probably deserve more than $31 a game, but I have seen some terrible officiating that isn't worth a frick.
However, it is very selfish for the referees to put people in this predicament, with cancellations, this endangers the post season, and it's not fair to rob high school students of their season over an argument they have no say in but affects them so tremendously.

hey jj27 jj27 aka tommy banks. how many bad penaltues did wm have in championship game to lose the championship?
Posted on 1/31/11 at 6:34 pm to southernelite
the principals robbed the kids of their season if this happens... no reason why the refs shouldn't get the national average...

I'll have to consult my old principal, he was on the Top 28 committee & also referees NCAA, including Big 12 and ACC, among other.
