I think if there was even any discussion whatsoever, even a remote possibility, we would've heard apologies and overtures from Gilbert, and we haven't.

I also don't think he'd want to deal with gilbert.

He can't get out of his own way.

The return on that investment will be reflected in the value of the franchise

He's already gotten a HUGE ROI for signing these guys. He should let them go and be glad he got a couple championships, unreal merch revenue, and a sold out arena for 4 years.

He could spend the saved money on a really young nucleus that will be in South Beach for a long time.

I really haven't heard the offers. I just started seeing rumors about it on Twitter today.

Interesting note to Dion Waiters talk: Source close to Waiters tells @FOXSportsOH that Waiters thinks he or Kyrie Irving will be traded.

Then again, winning in Cleveland would be the only thing that could redeem him completely in the eyes of most, that is if he cares about that.

Heat management didn't set this shite up right for the long run. Took their flash in the pan and now back to being at best a 5 seed.

The owners did change the rules pretty drastically in the immediate aftermath of the heat coming together and severely crippled their ability to add more pieces around the three in the ways that Riley and the management probably anticipated being able to.

Probably not as much as you're thinking.

unreal merch revenue
Isn't that split with the entire league?

It's obvious that this has never been about maximizing how much money he could get. He just wants to win and doesn't care how he does it. I don't get how he's the bad guy for wanting to win at all costs.

I agree with the premise but it's a little disingenuous because Lebron makes so much in endorsements. He makes an estimated $40 million per year in endorsements which allows him to take pay-cuts to make these super teams. This isn't an option for 99% of the NBA.
