I think Houston is more valuable than second fiddle in any city. Yes.

by who? once again, i dont think anyone is doubting the rockets will be sold for a very large sum of money, easily over 1.5 billion. and maybe over 2 billion, but its just weird to see these numbers get thrown around as a forgone conclusion when no franchise has ever come close to being sold for 2.5 billion dollars

I wasn't embarrassed at all. That loss wasn't embarrassing at all. Sorry you are mixed up. Beat Houston at their best then I will give credit. Otherwise. Nah.

Is that all your looking at? The rockets have a lot of recognition in China. Les has been building that up since Yao came in.

Rockets have a lot going on for them in that department. I think many folks underestimate that too.

Tad Brown, the Rockets' CEO who gave the press conference said:

"The Forbes valuations (most recently $1.65 billion) are typically "very low" compared to sale prices in past."

So it seems you do not know what you're talking about.

least disappointing playoff series loss in as long as i can remember.

Says the guy who disappeared for a week then came back claiming he didn't even watch the game. Houston was the second bet team in the state of Texas last year in MLB, NBA, and NFL. It is what it is. Maybe don't be such an insufferable douche leading up to the games against rivals and you won't get ragged so hard. See the Astros fans towards Rangers fans this year vs the previous two.

Clippers are definitely not as valuable as rockets. Clippers were bought for $2 billion...4 times what they expected....

Wasn't that because Ballmer grossly overpaid for them?

Not that I would but You use Parker all the time

Nene was markedly better then Parker in the postseason.

so we are expecting the rockets to be sold for over 4 times their worth like the clippers and go over 5 billion?

And someone will grossly overpay for the Rockets. Supply and demand. Only so many toys to buy for all the billionaires.

I think they had the Bucks at like 300 million and they sold for 550 or something. I remember them being low on the Dodgers and what the rumors have been around the Marlins as well in baseball.

Why tf would they move from Houston? If the new owner tries to move this team I will hunt his arse down.

Houston, like all teams not in NY, LA or Chicago, is in a small market.

Steve Ballmer set the price.

In 2014, before Ballmer bought the Clippers for $2 billion, their valuation was somewhere around $500 million.

They were middle of the pack. The Rockets were ranked #6 in team valuations in 2014, well ahead of the Clippers.

This sale will for sure be over $2 billion.

Should it be? Yes. Will it be? I do not know as these men do not make their money by overpaying. I do not see it going over the Clips, but if I am wrong so be it. I won't ever own a team.

there is nothing stupid about this

yes, the rockets will probably be sold for more than what they are valued at right now, i just dont think 2.5 billion is a forgone conclussion because no franchise has ever been close that that

I think the key will be if it is a corporation like Shell or will it be an individual. If it is a corporate purchase the price will not climb as high.
