LOL!!! There's no rationalizing. Magic won his first championship his rookie year and that was with Kareem getting injured and him playing all six positions in the Finals. LeBron will have time to work on his legacy but he's not in the conversation yet for GOAT
All this time I never knew there were six positions in basketball

All I am saying is that LeBron has accomplished more than anybody ever before turning 29, and it's not close at all

He's played over 150 more games. I hope its not close if he wants to be GOAT

You know what I meant lol that's what I get for getting so caught up in this. Brain fart.

The whole idea that LeBron has accomplished more than anyone by 28 is crazy. He's good but he's not the GOAT yet. Hell, we don't even know how this series will play out yet

That's how good magic was. He made you think there was six on his team because of his ability to be every where at once.

top 10 if they win tomorrow
So if he plays awful and they win, top 10. But if he plays great and they lose, not top 10?

Makes sense.

He'll be the second GOAT when it's all said and done.

On pace to be GOAT, could be.

But he isn't in the top 10 right now.

Jordan, Magic, Bird, Wilt, Bill, Duncan, Kobe, Shaq to name a few are all ahead of him.

1. MJ

2.LBJ
3. Wilt
4. Shaq
5. Kareem
6. Magic

Say what you want but what LBJ is doing right now is crazy. 3 finals triple doubles in his last 7 finals games. Over the course of the last 3 playoffs he's guarded and shut down D Rose, Rondo, and Parker as well as having to check bigs like Garnett and West.

Another point needs to be made. MJ played in the hand check error but playing any type of zone was also considered illegal defense. If Dallas is forced to play man against the Heat in 2011 the Heat could have won that series very easily. Point is yes LBJ has it easier with no hand check but he also has it more difficult because teams just play zone behind whoever is guarding LBJ if he gets a mismatch.

are you forgetting the defensive 3 second rule? That didn't exist back then, bigs could guard the rim for as long as they want, essentially a zone defense.

LeBron's in his prime now and I wouldn't take him over prime Bird. So he'll never be better than Bird for sure. I'd have a hard time putting him over Baylor too. He's on that Scottie Pippen level. If he played from like 83-98 (heyday of the NBA), he would either be the beta on a top 3-4 team, or the alpha on 4 or 5 seed, but he's just not inner circle elite.

Elite athlete, average-above average skills.

I don't how much that graphic shows considering Jordan played in college and Lebron came in straight from high school. Does that give him a four year scoring advantage when you compare them at 28. He should be leading in stats with more years then Jordan at 28.

TDIL that Jordan played all 4 years in college.

i dont have a list but i group them into 5s which have no real order
1st group
mj
magic
bird
kareem
wilt

2nd group
kobe
oscar robertson
shaq
isaiah thomas
russell

3rd group
dr j
lebron
duncan
john stockton
hakeem

so id put lebron in the 3rd group. 10-15 range. he can obviously move up

Wilt over Russel?

Wilt was a stat monger who didn't do what it took to win and was to worried about fouling out rather than playing actual defense.

Here's how I view it. Argue about stats, rings, MVPs all you want, which is valid and I understand that logic. However, Game 7, down 1, down to the last shot. Who do you want to have the ball in their hands?

1. Jordan and it's not close

After that it's tougher. Right now, I'd prefer Magic, Kobe, Bird, or Isaiah with the ball over Lebron.
