LeBron has played in 211 playoff games?

And only has 3 titles?

Jordan has 6 titles in 179 playoff games?

Magic played in 190 playoff games with 5 titles.

So:

1. Jordan
2. Magic

Obviously. All of the best players still played in the NBA (minus as many foreigners) with fewer teams. Competition is tougher if you don't have a great GM, ala the Lakers

Jordan with 5987 in 179 games. LeBron currently at 5960 in 211 games
Im not sure what Im more impressed with, Lebron playing in 32 more games (with much more in the tank) ...... OR ...... Jordan playing in 32 less games with 27 more points.

This isn't a big deal. Playoffs are about rings.

Who cares how many points you scored.

The Buffalo Bills scored a bunch of points in their 4 Super Bowl runs through the playoffs.

Jordan and Magic and Duncan, etc...won far more in far less games. That's a fact. That's what matters...cruising through the playoffs and then WINNING!

Don't forget Robert Horry!

I agree, last time I checked the objective for an NBA team is to win the championship, not to win in ex-amount of total games. I concede that winning one in the least amount may render that postseason more impressive, but does not render the accomplishment of achieving the world title less bc it was obtained over more games. Hell, if a player wins a bunch of titles in hundreds of games and compliments that with HOF stats then he exceeds the other player with less titles and less games if we're determining a player's greatness based off title amount.

When 16 teams are making the playoffs out of 23, I'm not going to say Jordan had it tougher.

So you would think more highly of him if he would've just squandered away all of his years in Cleveland surrounded by a terrible front office?

Well, there were like 6 teams in the playoffs, total.

Just a note on the scoring...Jerry West was the playoff leader throughout the entire 60's in points basically.

He's #8 on the all-time list playoff scoring list playing less than half the games they play now; playing in a 3-round playoff series total while only playing 153 playoff games.

He made a lot of Finals...9. But he was 1-8. If Jerry West had played in the expanded playoff era, he'd have about 10,000 playoff points.

And just to add...

Of the Top 10 playoff points leaders...

Jerry West is the only player to have played the majority of his career in the 1960's...with a shortened playoff season.

And Kareem is the only player to have played most of his prime in the 1970's.

And Bird is the only player on the Top 10 to have played his entire career in the 1980's.

The rest is mostly 90's stars.

It's weird because this is a clear advantage for LeBron but you posted it like it was a knock against LeBron.

My point is that if you have a high % of fgs on dunks, it doesn't make you a better player. If deandre Jordan has the same # of FG attempts as Lebronnor Jordan, he would have more point than them. But it doesn't mean he's a better than both. It's not a good gauge.

Sure does help to play 7 game series in round 1 and Jordan usually swept or played shorter series.

Well son of a bitch.

Why doesn't Deandre Jordan just make all the points all the time?!

For Christ's sake he's good at dunking!!!!!

I remember when he single-handily put on a show against the defending champ Celtics.

When he put up 50+ in the garden in the playoffs? Bc I'm pretty sure the bulls lost that game

ETA LINK
Not taking anything away from scoring 63 by any means just saying they did get swept in that series
