Every year I see some results from the spring season and the Classics and it's pretty interesting, then I look a the calendar and all of sudden I'm like, 'oh man the Giro starts soon' then it gets here. All of a sudden it's stage 5, then 15, and then it's over. And then we have about a month till the Tour. So excited when it gets going, and then all of a sudden it's the first rest day. Then stage 15, and then the route map shows a path to Paris, and it's over. So then I look forward to the Vuelta and the same thing happens.

Every year.

Holy cow! I haven't been able to keep up with the tour like I want, but damn. Last I saw only 10 seconds separated them. Now in this thread Pogacar says he's dead.

so is my fantasy team. i had to blow my last trade dumping fricking aert who was eating points and now i have to decide who to take for the last 3 stages.

sean yates?
put pog back on the team?
pederson?

2 sprints and a mountain so i just dont think pog is going to help me at this point.

That interview was nice to see and it felt good to see him win. Got over 300k views it seems, on youtube. Just type in his name and 'interview' immediately follows.

TDF is almost over, once again. Worlds are August 5-13.

But that means the 2023 Vuelta a Espana has not yet started. From Cyclingnews
Mountains from the Tourmalet to Angliru will punish peloton in 2023 Vuelta a España
Date - August 26 - September 17, 2023
Distance - 3153.8 kilometres (1,960 miles)
Previous winner - Remco Evenepoel

Starts with a TEAM Time Trial.

Angliru is the famous climb where Chris Horner sealed his Vuelta victory.

Pretty cool moment for Pinot. Hope the chasers don’t catch him up this climb.

Guess I was wrong about Pogacar being over-trained.

Great stage and a great Tour.

One thing that struck me today is the lack of South Americans. No Colombians in the top 30 in GC. A bit surprising

Just getting to watch the stage in full.
Jonas could have won that stage easily had he wanted to. Was a nod to Pog there.
Much respect for that.
Wonderful moment for Pinot as well getting to crest the next to last climb in the front. Crowd was insane. Sad we are done already.

I hope Kuss is ok. Two crashes in a few days wrecked him. This one with Rodriguez was bad. They both bled a LOT probably due to their head cuts. Fell out of top 10 but that’s not what is important. He finished so I’m sure he’s fine but damn

Interesting that 2 Cofidis riders in 2 days have abandoned bc of the shits, just before Paris after having a great first few weeks

Froome was on Lance's show today YouTube 28:57 mark

- Said this TDF looks like it's a bit more difficult than most.
- Very surprised at the numbers being posted by guys like Jonas and Pog, but most of them are on social media by people trying to do the math on their own, and that he remembers people doing that for some of his rides and sometimes those numbers were really far off from reality. I found that interesting.
- There has always been a myth that he monitored his power meter closely during the race and I thought that was true, but he said that was a byproduct of his race position, but he wasn't actually looking at the meter.
- Lance asked how much longer will he continue and he says he still enjoys bike racing and being part of a team etc.
- Unfortunately his team is not going to the Vuelta so his season is basically done.

Fairly short but interesting.

Just watched Chris Horner's last video for the TDF and he said Jonas is doing La Vuelta, so TJV is going for the triple crown on the grand tours. Roglic will also be there. Does not appear Pogacar will be there but who knows. Remco will be there. If Pogacar decides to show up, La Vuelta might be the premier race of this season and steal the spotlight from the TDF.

Someone does an analysis of the Stage 16 ITT performance by Jonas

Spoiler it estimates he did 7.1 w/kg not the reported 7.6-8.0 estimated by other sources
