It's a transition? He doesn't have to lineup in the I or be strictly a wide receiver to help transition him out of playing QB. He is going to be used by Urban the best way possible to use his skills, which mean he will throw the ball some to make defenses prepare for more things. Don't really have to look at things black and white big guy.

He has to decide if he thinks his shoulder can hold up as a QB or if he thinks the NFL would value him more as a RB. Him playing a hybrid-type thing like you stupidly pointed out would not provide any service to him in terms of NFL draft stick

I somewhat disagree.

Him playing a hybrid allows NFL scouts to see that his future is likely at RB, but gives a team the ability to 1. Have him as an emergency QB who doesn't take an additional roster spot of the 53 and 2. gives you the potential to run effective trick plays. This all assumes he still has a live arm.

I think no matter what Braxton decides himself, his future is either as a slot receiver or as a scat back. Too many ? about his shoulder IMO, and even if you don't question that, he has shown inconsistency throwing the ball even when healthy.

I think next year the QB chart looks like this. JT Barrett, Torrance Gibson then Joe Burrow. Braxton should transfer. Its in everybody's best interest.

Stephen Collier will be a redshirt freshman. He is in the mix as well.

I'm not sure what all these QBs are doing coming to Ohio State. I think Torrance Gibson will end up becoming a wideout but he's stated multiple times that he only wants to play QB. Joe Burrow is a really nice athlete that throws a good ball. Not sure how he fits into the plans either.

Ohio State is the leader for the QB from NJ who's highly ranked in 2016 and Haskins from Maryland has always been high on the Buckeyes. Then Danny Clark is a done deal for 2017. It's an embarrassment of riches at the QB position.

Yeah I was looking at the recruiting yesterday. Danny Clark has been a buckeye for a really long time.

As it showed this year, you can never have too many QBs. A few of these guys are gonna have to switch to H-back or WR though. But we obviously have a history of using them efficiently (Spencer, Marshall, etc.)

I think Gibson is gonna be the one that ends up transferring if he can't see the field as a QB.

Sidenote: Do you already have tickets for Virginia Tech? If so, where are they on sale?

I don't. I get back from Italy the day before that game so I need to decide whether to go or not.

Gotcha. Any recommendations about the best way to get tickets for that game?

And if he throws for 3 ints in a loss at home to a 6-6 school he rides the bench to Jennings bc clearly young more talented guys aren't allowed to have 1 bad game or redeem themselves. Lsu already has their Barrett

I can talk to some Hokies. We had a president of some bank down there at our tailgate before the VA Tech game and he invited some of us down and said we could get tickets. I'll see if that is an option.

Braxton will not start over JT. Anyone who says otherwise has not watched both play enough to know better.

Disagree. If anything he is the most likely to transfer. Braxton coming back doesnt help Ohio St. It makes JT Barrett and Cardale Jones both sit and waste another year when both are more then capable to start. I love Braxton, but his time is simply up at Ohio St. I wish him the best, but its time to mutally agree to move on. JT Barrett will be the starter next year. I think Urban tells Cardale that today and Cardale goes pro tomorrow. Going pro is in Cardale's best interest as well. Somebody will draft him. He has all the tools. Sit and learn and get $$$$. He is already 22 and by the time he would go pro he would be almost 24. Transfering isnt an option because he would have to sit out another year. Strike now while the iron is hot. We have two stud QB's coming in. I think next year the QB chart looks like this. JT Barrett, Torrance Gibson then Joe Burrow. Braxton should transfer. Its in everybody's best interest.

For frick's sake this is stupid. JT would see ZERO benefit from transferring. He would have to sit out a year and then compete for a starting job somewhere else. The job is his at OSU unless he steps on his dick or gets hurt or in trouble in the offseason. Cardale is a solid QB but JT is better overall, hands down. Braxton is crazy athletically but his QB skills are much to be desired.

I've seen Burrow play in person this year and he's very good but I would be surprised if he ever saw the field at OSU. He would be a 4 yr starter at a MAC school for sure and his dad is an asst at Ohio U, so I look for him to transfer at some point. Gibson did not impress me during the Army All-American game. Good athlete but terrible mechanics and so-so arm strength. And you seem to have forgotten about redshirt Steven Collier?

JT Barrett got the benefit of better coaching and a full season in the system.

Harris was the #2 DT QB of his class while Barrett wasn't even top 10 coming out. I understand that's just rankings, but it does attest to his actual talent. Harris is faster with every bit as strong of an arm, maybe stronger. So not sure why you can't compare the 2?

Not sure how this is hard to understand, Harris would be a beast under Meyer as well. Barrett wouldn't start over Jennings as a true freshman either with Mils. it is what it is.

Harris had a run of leading LSU to 9 straight TDs on 10 straight possessions and the only non TD drive had to end on a hail mary. He had one bad start on the road as a true freshman, but your guy with far more experience threw 3 ints and lost to VT at home. Your guy had full trust and got to redeem himself vs the big ten.

Harris in very limited playing time accounted for 9 total TDs, 6 passing, 3 rushing with 1 int and 1 hail mary int. He was actually very solid in very minor play. To put into perspective Jennings had 11 total TDs lol and that includes the bowl game.

Barrett was highly rated as a DT before he tore his ACL in his senior season.

Our guy with "far more experience"?

He was playing in his second game in 24 months. Jesus, some of you need to fact check before you make shite up.

Dude is not going to be a QB in the NFL plain and simple. You would know this if you saw him throw a ball. On top of that, his throwing arm is shot because of his shoulder. He hasn't been able to throw a ball since the last injury and I think can start again around preseason

True, two labrum surgeries on top of a not that good throwing arm to start with doesn't equal NFL QB.

If he isn't the starter, he's transferring.

To be fair to everybody, Meyer should name the starter after spring training, because all three are too good to be sitting on anyone's bench.
