should have told the kid to get whatever yds he could and then go down, no need to get out of bounds.

that's on him.

Agreed. Watching that game I was yelling for the kid to just go down and call timeout...they had 3!
Oh well...now an overrated Stanford (their D is non-existent) will be ahead of a one loss LSU or Bama in the BCS and we will have to deal with it.

Just another reason to hate the douche that is Kiffin!

Yea he may have a point but he was a moron for not using his timeouts earlier. They lost about 5 seconds by not using one after the first completion of the drive and they lost about a minute by not using them when Stanford was about to score. I'll never understand that. Stanford had two timeouts and was on the ten with about 1:30 left. They weren't going to run out of time you were either going to stop them on downs and win or they were going to score and you'd get the ball back.

This is exactly right. He had no reason not to use it to stop the clock and set up the next play. No reason to hurry. He cost himself the time not the ref.

Why did he call a play that required his receiver to run all the way across the field? No one to blame but himself.

SEC refs give them a run for their money. Except they are corrupt, not inept.

It reminds me of McCoy for UT throwing that pass against nebraska and the time ran out

you damn idiot..The rule is when you throw the ball out of bounds, the minute it hits anything the clock stops running..They reviewed it and saw it hit the ground with 1 second. We were just lucky Suh was chasing Colt, or he might've goofed that one..

The Kiffin/USC hate on this board is staggering...

For LSU fans, the Kiffen/Orgeron hate goes back to the Janzen Jackson recruitment.

That was bush league stuff. I would love to pass both Kiffykins and Ogre on the sidewalk, begging for pennies.

So I could point and laugh as I walk by.

Because THAT would've worked out well for LSU.

Time Baton Rouge gets over Lane Kiffin...pretty safe to say he did you all a favor by playing dirty.

It wasn't just the recruit. It was the way the recruit was told to string LSU along so they couldn't replace him.

Bush league.

I never quite understood/cared about USC claiming a share of the title. We got a crystal ball, USC didn't. End of story.

I'm just as happy with the 2003 AP Championship than I would have been if the shoe were on the other foot, and USC had won the BCS. But I am glad some of you are "over it". Now.

Its like the NCAA just wants to punish USC more...kind of digging their heels in their backs. You already penalized the play, but to suspend the kid? You gonna suspend every player that draws a personal foul penalty?

They said he was a repeat offender, but he played man as cleanly as he could. The WR dropped down causing the impact.

Yeah, but 99% of the time (including the USC/Stanford game) time issues are made by a ref on the field. For example, delay of game calls are not called by a replay, but by an official seeing the clock hit zero, looking back to see the ball wasn't snapped and then throwing the flag.

There should have never been a replay in the Texas game. Because the ball hit the ground, the refs ruled the play dead, and by that time the clock read zero. The rule has never been when the ball hits the ground. It is when the refs make the hand signal that the ball is dead. And, the refs did that with zero on the clock.

no it's always on the referee's signal. show me the rule that says anything close to what you have said.
