Fail by the runner on 2nd. No reason to run in that situation.

It was a bad play regardless. I don't care about the LLWS at all, so I'm not mad at it or anything, just commenting that the runner really shouldn't have been in that situation.

with only one loss, does this mean that we still have a chance at the finals?

Double elim.
Win out and take home World Series Championship.
Or lose one more and go home.

Your taught in LL baseball 2 outs run on anything, he read ground ball so he ran. He didn't know till 5 or 4 steps into running that the 3rd baseman bobbled it. He is just doing what he was taught.
P.S. LLL Alum right here! Way to represent LLL proudly boys!

Thanks. I couldn't figure out how that worked.

quote:not really. If the runner on 2nd is forced and there are two outs, he is running on anything. However, if the runner on 2nd is not forced and the ball is hit to the left side of the infield, the runner on 2nd should hold and not run into a possible tag out. He should run to 3B once the ball is thrown to 1B

Even 7 and 8 year olds in pitching machine are told this by their 3rd base coach.

haha i bet 99% of them have no clue what to do. Being told and actually reacting are very different.
