How can you be the MVP and not even attempt a shot in the 4th quarter when your team is blowing a huge lead to Golden State?? Lebron gets his points early in games mostly off layups cause of his athleticism. He's a freak athletically but as far as shooting and basketball skills such as footwork and post game Lebron can't hold Kobe's jock

Dude, look what happened to the cavs after lebron left.
Look at their stats compared this year. It isn't even close

Kobe goes off for one game and y'all act like he just won the MVP

So you think that if Kobe played for the cavs and now the heat, and Lebron played for the lakers all this time, Kobe would have a ring?
Lebron was clutch in the 4th quarter against Boston and Chicago last year in the playoffs

He didn't score in one regular season game and you think he sucks

You're delusional, brah
Just like every other Kobe fan

Ummm yeah there is no doubt in my mind if you put Kobe in Lebron's place last year in the Finals he could have been the post player that the Heat needed to win.

So they would have gotten past the bulls?
Lebron shut down Rose which allowed them to win that series

Lebron's PER is almost 10 points better than Kobe too, and that pretty much shows how well a player is playing and how valuable they are

Lebron is having an amazing year so far I'll give him that but you can't be considered the MVP when you have another top 5 player in Wade and another top 10 player in Bosh on your team. Thats why Jordan didn't win the MVP after he came back cause he had Pippen and Rodman back then, same situation. MVP= Most Valuable Player to your team. Like I said take Lebron off the Heat and Wade, Bosh, Cole, and Chalmers still have you top 5 in the East. Take Kobe off the Lakers and they are looking at top 5 in the lottery. Lebron gave up any chances he ever should have at winning the MVP when he sold out to go play as the "Big 3". And if Kobe gets Dwight Howard and Derron Williams in L.A. then he don't deserve to win the award either but right now with the state the Lakers are in as far as their roster to be 7-4 and 7-2 in their last 9 and to be averaging 29.5/6/6 is MVP caliber. Especially when everybody said before the season he was done and espn experts voted him as the 7th best player in the NBA going into the season

Dude you're getting owned in the thread. If you can't admit that the Heat without Lebron > Lakers without Kobe then you my friend are a homer.

Where did I say that? I'm just making an argument as to why I think he shouldn't win MVP. Please show me where I said that

You know what's messed up about the MVP and Heisman and all those awards? There is no definition for who gets them. If it's the best player, then Kobe should have SEVERAL, and Lebron would have won last year.
If it is the best player on the best team, then Rose deserved it because they had the best record, but that hasn't always been the case
If it is the player most valuable to their team, then once Lebron left the Cavs, Dwight Howard should have one it last year, and probably before that too.

I just disagree that Kobe is the MVP so far, but to each his own. We aren't going to convince each other otherwise

You're right, you never said that, but you never really agreed with someone else who did. I'm with you though, I think the definition of MVP is whatever the media wants it to be that year. And that sucks. Personally, I think Most Valuable Player means the most value you can get out of 1 guy. You take this guy away, and his team cannot make it without him. But that's just my opinion.

And I know it's a regular season game in January but your fooling yourself it you can admit this is a trend.

I guess you could consider me a LeBron hater but I just can't fathom the thought if this guy being the league MVP when he's not the most important player on his team IMO.

I agree there is no set definition for the award but it typically goes to the best player on the best team or a really really good team. Kobe should have won it at least the 2 times Steve Nash did but he didn't cause one year his team didn't make the playoffs and the other they were the 7 seed but in this instance as of today the Lakers are 3rd in the west and 1st in their division. I'd say the top 5 for MVP right now are Kobe, Lebron, Durant, D Rose, and Howard and I'd say that Kobe and Howard are neck and neck right now for doing the most with the least help which is ironic since most people believe after the all star game in Orlando they will become teammates

1 game? He went into last night's game as the second leading scorer in the league, and he's been doing it banged up.

I'm not saying he's the MVP right now - I'd give that to Lebron - but he's definitely in the conversation.

Yes, he was saying that Kobe is the MVP so far and based it on a 48 point game (16 in the 4th) compared to Lebron's 0 points in the 4th in a loss.

On a lighter note it is kinda crazy to see Kobe's supporting cast this year. I haven't seen that many white people on the court since the late 90's Jazz or 80's Boston Celtics

Man I just love basketball and Lebron is my favorite player, I think he gets a lot more shite than he deserves, but once he starts winning it'll all go away.

I just hate the fans that like one player and can't even acknowledge that other players are great too
Which Kobe and Lebron both are

That said, Kobe couldn't have won without shaq, and he couldn't until he got Gasol. So it pisses me off that Lebron gets so much shite for going to the heat, even if he did it in a poor manor.
