Shh, don't bring logic into this

Kobe was playing better basketball until January. The combination of injuries to himself, and LeBron elevating his game, has pushed LeBron ahead at this point in the season. Kobe was shooting 49.6% from the field, scoring about 31ppg, hitting game winners, and leading the Lakers to the best record in the league. He fractured the finger, tweaked the knee, had back spasms, and has struggled since.

Yes I agree with the subject statement. Kobe is the best in the world still right now imo.

but DAMN!! did anyone see lebron versus the clippers..in the 1st quarter?? Holy shite. I haven't seen anything like that in a long time.

eta: guy was stroking shots from the tip of the center court logo and making 3s falling out of bounds. you really should do yourself a favor and watch the highlights if you haven't seen them from the other night.

Lebron will finish his career as the best player in NBA history IMO. He already has the physical tools, and he just continues to get better every year. He's a small forward version of an in his prime Shaq in the paint and his shooting just keeps improving. It is scary how good he is becoming and the fact that he is 6'9" and near 270 pounds playing as agile as he does is just insane. If he had Shaq at 30, there would be no discussion who would be winning the title this year or any year they played together. He's already much better at this point of his career than Kobe was IMO.

ESPN ran a stat about this about a month ago. It went something like Lebron shot around 50% when they were down in the last 30 seconds of a game, and they had the shot to win or tie it. On the flipside, Kobe was at 35-40%. Kobe's coming through when it matters is highly overrated.

Brons been very clutch but Kobe always gets the recognition for this for some reason. The rings play a part, but anyone that's watched Lebron over the last few years knows this is a common misconception.

ETA: and I hate this fricking conversation. After last season I no longer have the stomach for it. Enough Kobe vs Lebron shite to last through the next decade.

but its not "not even close"

Nah, it's not close and hasn't been for awhile. Kobe was getting himself back in the argument earlier in the season, although Lebron was still outplaying him. Now it's not close again. Like I posted earlier, it should be nearly impossible for any objective observer to come to any other conclusion. People like you have a ridiculously strong perception bias and ignore the objective evidence (stats) even when it overwhelmingly goes against your belief.

if you look at my post before I said he is the most dominate but when it comes to over all game he still is not on 24's level

If my team was down by 2 points with 5 seconds left in the game, I would want the ball in Kobe's hands over any other player

So he can shoot 40%?

I'd rather have Lebron drive and get the foul at the very least.

Lebron's jump shooting this year has been orgasmic.

Kobe had/has a pretty damn good supporting cast. like Shaq (in his prime), Gasol, Odom, etc.

LeBron has always had shite for supporting cast, but he makes them look like above average NBA players... Varejao, Boobie, Larry fricking Hughes.

Kobe has arguably the best NBA coach of all time. LeBron has a nobody as his coach.

LeBron is playing without Mo Williams and D-West right now. They're still kicking arse. What is it? 7 game win streak? I think LeBron is vividly seperating himself from the Kobe comparisons this season, but thats just my opinion.

100% agree.

and i feel the arguments otherwise are weak. you can throw out all the numbers from this year you want and it doesn't mean shite because of kobe's injury. chalk up some stats pre-injury.

the real argument here is almost silly, think about it, both are legends of basketball, but have complete opposite games.

i heard a fair comparison the other day i think i will stick with:

Both of their games are a form of art, but let's be real, two different types of art, both getting the job done one way or the other.

Lebron is like sculpturist. Uses strength, power, and raw ability to sculpt.

Kobe is like a detailed artist. Who uses experience, craft, and skill to paint.

Lebron uses a jackhammer, kobe uses a fine tipped brush, both create their own masterpieces....

kobe's masterpiece just has a lil more bling to it.....

You've got that backwards

They still all overwhelmingly favor Lebron. Like I said earlier, ignorance is a large factor in making this non-issue a debate.

You're pretty fricking dumb if you think LeBron's cast these past two years is shite. They're the best defensive team in the league, consistent shooters, and probably play harder on a consistent basis than any other team outside of Houston. You never know what you'll get from Lamar Odom night in and night out, but you know that you'll at least get hustle, rebounding, and defense from some like Varejo on a nightly basis.
