Lebron's career is still very young. I think he is steadily closing the gap.

I agree and say that Kobe>Lebron, but they are different players on different teams.
Kobe is a monster, no question about that, but he has more talent around him then anyone else in the league. Gasol, Bynum, Artest, Odom, and Fisher are great teamates imo. All Lebron really has is Shaq, maybe mo, and im drawing a blank after that.
Without Lebron, you have a Cavs team that would have a BAD losing record.
Without Kobe, you would have a Lakers team that would compete and sill probably go to the playoffs.

Kobe has always been fortunate enough to be on a good team with a GREAT (possibly the best) coach. Plus, when he won the first 3 with Shaq, Shaq was the most unstoppable and dominate player in the NBA.
Lebron really doesn't have that much help at all on his team. Shaq is definitely up there in age and Mo Williams is a very streaky player. He's not much to write home about imho.

Lebron has played at a SIGNIFICANTLY higher level than Kobe the past two seasons. They aren't even close really. Kobe shot like 39% for the month of January. I don't know how anyone who watches either of them play can even attempt to argue this point.

this is why i have a problem with Lebron fans pulling out the FG % stat, Lebron runs down the lane and just dunks on people b/c it can't be stopped so no shite his % will be better. When it comes to creating his own shot off the dribble Kobe is still better and its not even close when it comes to scoring with his back to the hoop

Nah, they're shooting around the same percentage on jumpshots this season. I can't link because I'm on a phone, but 82games has the stats. Lebron is better in nearly every conceivable way currently. Ignorance or bias are the only ways anyone can even attempt to argue it. Every single statistic is overwhelmingly favorable for Lebron. Not even close really

Nasketball stats aren't very telling. The team you play on and the offense you run have a huge factor in stats.
Right now LeBron is better, but its not "not even close"

So basically you're holding it against Lebron because he can and WILL drive to the basket, to create an easier shot, and not settle for jumpshots? are you shitting me?

ESPN ran a stat about this about a month ago. It went something like Lebron shot around 50% when they were down in the last 30 seconds of a game, and they had the shot to win or tie it. On the flipside, Kobe was at 35-40%. Kobe's coming through when it matters is highly overrated.
