And if he's going to knock Stanzi he should remember that Ga Tech completed 2 passes for 12 yds that game.

Ferentz is overpaid for sure, but northern Illinois is a very good team that would beat many B1G teams

Fry had 3 ten win seasons during his tenure at Iowa. Ferentz had three in his first six years there.

He's a solid coach, and you also have to consider that you don't have loads of coaches lining up to live and coach in Iowa City.

bullshite. It's a Big 10 job and they're willing to pay $3.6 million, they can hire a good coach.

Don't see him being around next year. Anyone know what his buyout is?

Almost 19 million as of November 2012. Would be somewhere around 15 at the end of this season.

Iowa state always plays Iowa tough. I feel like they upset them every few seasons

ETA: I'm high. Ignore me

Ferentz's buyout is insane though..

"The real killer for Iowa, however, is the buyout, which is set at 75% of his remaining salary, paid monthly. So if Iowa wants to go another route for its head coach, that's fine. It'll just owe Ferentz about a quarter-million dollars a month.

Every month.

Until January of 2020"

that breaks down to 2.5 million a year until 2020..

I always thought Ferentz was an outstanding coach awhile ago, but the college game has seemingly changed a lot in the last 3-5 years and he hasn't adapted well
