They will be interesting post Manning..... is Brock the answer? Will he be next Rodgers/Rivers/Young/Brady type to step in after a great QB leads or will we have a situation like in other places....

Manning + they will have a lot of defensive players to sign/re-sign as they have been in a win now mode. They will have a good bit of cap space but do they have the players ready to step in for everyone who they've given these 2-3 years deals to.

Julius Thomas is outstanding as a pass catching tight end, one of the best. His problem is that he cannot block and is often injured. Denver didn't try to resign him.

With Kubiak and Osweiler instead of Fox and Manning, the 2016 Broncos could bear an eerie resemblance to the 2011 Colts.

Denver will be mediocre as soon as Manning retires. Even though Demaryius is all-pro, their secondary is awesome, and they had a bunch of legit options, they will not win with Brock Osweiler.

Yeah, they'll win 2 total games and instantaneously drop to the bottom of the NFL.

Get real.

A source tells the Denver Post free agent Julius Thomas is currently working out contract details with the Jaguars.

The Broncos didn't even reach out to Thomas to offer him a contract. So he'll flee from Peyton Manning to Blake Bortles and a whole bunch of cash. A one-dimensional and oft-injured player, Thomas will likely end up overpaid but the Jags are desperate to give Bortles as many weapons as possible.

Why? The 2011 Colts still had Wayne, Garcon, Clark, Saturday, Freeney, Mathis and Bethea. And Kubiak can't coach his way out a wet paper bag.

This is from the season but it shows Denver tried to sign him, so they obviously had interest
quote:

"The Broncos came to me, we tried to get it done, it didn't work," Bauer told The Denver Post on Friday. "Does Julius love Denver? Yes. Does Julius love the fans there? No question. Does he love the organization and the community? Look at what he does for kids in that town.

Now I would tend to believe if they tried to sign him during the season and it did not work out they reached out to him since the season ended as well. They may not have made an offer but they certainly reached out to him to gauge interest based on their prior talks. To believe Denver didn't even try to talk to him since the season ended is just a foolish head in the sand approach imo.

You don't see the difference between then and now? The Denver Broncos ran a completely different offense then and now have a new coaching regime and offense that Julius Thomas doesn't fit.

No, they didn't.

1) he doesn't fit the offense
2) he's chasing the money and Denver can't pay him

Yeah, because my post states as much.

Won a playoff game with Tim Tebow as the starting quarterback in 2011.

I don't know if Brock Oz is the answer in Denver when Peyton Manning retired or moves on (personally would rather have someone else), but Denver isn't going away anytime soon.

Other than Josh McDaniels tenure, which was an abortion, Denver is always in contention for a playoff spot.

He doesn't.

Don't get me wrong, I think the world of Julius Thomas. I think he's one of the best receiving options in the game, not just for a tight end. He's a mismatch nightmare for any defense in a vertical passing game.

That being said, he can't block and that is a primary goal of any tight end in the zone blocking system. The other thing about him is his injury history. He has missed a lot of games since 2011 and has ankle issues.

a young pass catching TE doesn't fit the offense.... explain that one. Gronk has missed a lot of games, Graham has missed a lot of games.... yet you are still talking about Thomas as a top 3-5 TE in the game right now and the offense doesn't need him?
Do you really feel the offense will change much with Manning at QB?

Dallas Clark did have health issues in the 2010s but he went from 100 receptions/1,000 yards in the final season he and Manning played the full season (2009) to 112 catches in his final three seasons without Manning.

And as you said, Thomas is already breaking down.

anyone that catches 24 TDs in 27 games fits an offense.
