Highly confident it's going to be JT.

I would be happy if it was cardale. I never want to see Barrett against our defense again. One of the more impressive performances I've seen live.

I for one, want this to happen. More distractions means less focus. Ohio St. slipping up for one game is alot different than LSU slipping up for one game.

Jones and Barrett are both dual threat QBs who bring pretty much the same thing.

Not really. Like at all.

Without really denouncing Cardale Jones' leadership, Urban Meyer indirectly said J.T. Barrett is the better leader and has the mentality of a coach on the field.

As has been said multiple times, J.T. Barrett is coming off one of the best seasons a QB has had in B1G history. Personally find Russell Wilson's lone season at Wisconsin more impressive, statistically, but he was a fifth-year senior and Barrett was a freshman.

This all being said, I think it would be foolish to not take advantage of Cardale's physical gifts. He should, and likely will, be used situationally.

This job likely goes to Barrett.

Won't matter...after Bud cooks up some blitzes

(yes, VT will lose, but it is time to be optimistic until kickoff )

Ohio State's passing game is very overrated.

Jones was lightning in a bottle and Barrett did well when he had time to throw, but neither are good passers under pressure. Their ability to scramble mitigates some of that, tho.

Luckily, the bulk of schedule can't rush the QB overly well.

I think people forget how great Barrett is.

JT was arguably the best QB in the nation when he went down; he was incredible. I also think he's a better fit for Urban's system. I'd start him.

I will say that I think this will be more difficult than the managing of a 2-QB system like Urban has done in the past. It's one thing when you have a senior/freshman and can design specific packages for each. It's also one thing when you have a guy who's a complete unknown in Jones and a guy who's playing exceptionally well in Barrett.

Now, he's got two guys who are essentially established stars. Hell Jones thought about going pro. These are guys who are namebrands and have egos based on the fact that they have proven what they can do on the field, but at the end of the day there's only one football.

OSU is the most talented team in the country and I believe Meyer is the best coach in the country (brace for thread derail), but I think this will be more difficult to manage than people think. If OSU doesn't win it all, this is why IMO.

If we can handle VT, there will be plenty of playing time to go around at the beginning of the year. That will help.

If JT comes out strong, it will quelch any QB controversy.

Outside of some sort of goalline or Tebow package, what would you use Jones situationally in? Barrett is the better runner overall and passer. Are you gonna have a "chunk it deep" package?

I def think the schedule sets up nicely, but I don't think you're quenching the controversy. Mop-up time against Moo St is not the same for someone who was considering making the leap and possibly being a 1st round pick last year. That's gonna be a hard pill to swallow.

I also don't think Barrett is gonna kill it against VT. The Hokies are gonna be pretty savage on D this year, and all they've heard is this is a dicey year for Beamer whereas all OSU has heard is they're invincible. OSU wins in the end cause VT's offense, per usual, is anemic, but this sets up for a really close game IMO.

Good point.

Johnny Manziel 5'11 200
John Brantley 6'3 220

Size is not nearly as important in the college game.
