False. Lafayette is generally well regarded nationally. Mississippi is not. Starkville isn't really regarded much at all. He was talking out of his arse with no basis other than being a guy who's team got smashed.

So a I guy that follows the school from Starkville, Mississippi finds Lafayette unlivable?
It was not apparent to me which of these two groups would hold superiority over the other.
We now know that people from Starkville thumb their noses up to people from Lafayette.

What is Laffayette well regarded for nationally besides some magazine articles ranking them #1 mid size city?
Both are small to medium sized areas with research universities and a strong leading industry.

they should embrace that... retire whatever number Bobby Boucher wore, etc.

Lafayette is continually in the top 15 with regards to economic growth and relatively low unemployment through the stagnant economy. When's the last time a good thing was written about Starkville?

You do realize Starkville is only a part of the Golden Triangle, right? And the area is a major aerospace producer?

Fin, I'm not hating on Lafayette. It's just funny that laffy people are hating on an area that on the national scale is very similar.

I'm not hating on Starkville, just saying on a national level it's nowhere near Lafayette.

As a whole Lafayette people are apretty abrasive/ classless bunch
I totally disagree. I work with a lot of people from Lafayette and in SW La and they are some of the friendliest people I know. They come off as intimidating if you aren't used to the fast speak, accent, and Cajun nuances but they'll give you the shirt off their back.
