IIRC He lead the league in defensive win shares for his position last season. Top 3-4 in the steals something like that not sure of the specifics. Not sure how someone can base their opinion on 17 games when there was a MVP runner up WHOLE season that ended only a couple months ago.

Maybe last season was the anomaly. He's just regressed to his mean this year.

Last year he ran out of gas in the last game of the playoffs. Umpteen turnovers or whatever. Hey if he wants to let the Pistons have a layup in the second qtr of a game in November who cares it has 0 to do with how the season ends in May, June, whenever that might be.

You mean last year when he averaged nearly 3 minutes less per game. Odd way to save gas. Ill drive a few miles further tomorrow at a lazier pace; I'll see if I save on gas.

Excuses.

I'm not sure if you know how basketball records work, but it's an aggregate of ALL games played, including those in November.

Just ask the Thunder from last year. I'm sure they would tell you how nice it would have been to win one of those November games when they missed out on the playoffs by ONE victory.

Rocketfan does not concern itself with such trifles when there are +.500 records to keep intact

Harden just needs to take a long weekend with the Houston Rockets Championship Tradition.

It'll fix everything!

Is not a measure of how good a defender is.

Pop sits players all the time. Lebron sat out two weeks last season. None of the Warriors play heavy minutes. All Bc it's better to be fresh at season end than to win meaningless games in November.

This might be my favorite Boom post of all time. trying to compare his shitty 7-11 team to the 3 best teams in the league one of which is having the single greatest start in NBA history.

what's funny is that all three of those teams have winning records. The Rockets...Do not.

Count me as a Rockets fan who sees it for what it is.

Harden's "Give a shite" has regressed to the point to where its wearing off on everybody else. So the effort sucks all the way around. No role player is going to give 100% when the "leader" isn't even coming close. Two summers ago he spent the entire time working on his game with Thibadeaux and Coach K and balled out all damn season. This summer he worked on his..."image" ...and this is the result.

They will eventually correct it to the point to where they slip into the playoffs at 7-8 and lose in the 1st (again).

Or there will be a Dwight/James blowup A(Harden effort + D12 maturity) at some point in the season turning this shite into days of our lives, and ending with Dwight taking his ball and going home at years end. Pretty sure he has an opt out after this year.

ETA: Followed by a lucky ping pong ball that will allow us to steal Ben Simmons from the Pels

ETA2: Not really

Then you have to deal with the rust factor.
