David DeCastro was a 1st rounder

I dont think anybody is saying that they can beat LSU. If we are playing great and so are they, we beat them. But, if we show up and play like we did against teams like Ole Miss, Arkansas, Clemson, etc. Stanford is more than capable of beating us.

I see people with this opinion often, but Stanford averaged exactly 2/10 of a yard more per game than LSU. 374.43 to our 374.23 and had only 3 more td's last year while playing an extra game. For some reason, Stanford's offense is considered legit and ours is awful.

finally, someone with sense!

Respecting Stanford and Stanford being a Top 5 team are two different things. I respect Stanford but I dont beleive the belong in the upper echelon of CFB teams just yet. No BCS titles or title game appearances.

With that being said I really dont have a problem with their PRESEASON ranking because it is just that.

Did anybody say anything about LSUs offense being hot garbage in here?? Because thats my post and i didnt say anything about LSU. They have had a better offensive system and play calling than we have in recent years though. Hopefully that changes this year.

As I recall, the refs butchered a TD call that would have given Stanford the win over ND. I also respect how they contained Oregon last year. I do think they have the men on the line of scrimmage to compete well with most teams.

That's all I was saying as well. It's laughable to me.

So a team needs to have at least a NC appearance in the last few years to warrant a top 5 ranking. Got it.

Stanford has nearly the amount of talent as a USCw, LSU, Alabama, Oregon, etc.? Because they dont.... not even close.

Really? Stanford has a lot off talent. And imo would do better in the SEC than Oregon or USC.

Wow, they have owned USC and beat Oregon. No reason to think they wont own the PAC this year.

David Decastro was drafted 2 years ago and hasn't played a down yet due to injury...

Like previously stated, I respect Stanford but top 5? Nope, nope, probably not top 10...

Question. Do you think Stanford is no better than Texas or Oklahoma,or Florida State? They lost to ND last year on a bad call. They are a legit team to think they are a top 5. They have a great coach and a lot of lettermen returning. I will say this. If they came to Tiger Stadium this year, I would be worried.

Stanford is the closest relative to an sec team anywhere in the country, they could beat Ohio state, Clemson, Florida state and Louisville. I don't honestly know who would win between Stanford a d LSU, I haven't seen this new LSU offense or our young defense so I have no clue what LSU is going to look like. That being said, they would probably e fourth of fifth best in the sec, but they get the higher ranking because they are not in the sec. They have 2-3 tests on their schedule a.d the rest pancakes, so I agree with their ranking. Keep in mind, these aren't power rankings, or even ranking the best teams, it's a projection OC how it will look when the season ends.

Stanford is 1 of the few teams outside of the SEC that I respect.

Kentucky, Vandy, Ole Miss, Miss. St., Tennessee, Mizzou, Auburn, Arkansas...

Just some of the teams in the SEC I don't respect.

bullshite. Stanford lost to ND? Get over yourself. You saw how bad ND blew.

LSU as well as Bama would absolutely beat Stanford this season.

Raise your hand if you think there is a team that comes within 20 points of Bama in the NCG? LSU fans you got Bama in midseason stride at home. We saw what happened when you got them after 45 days off with arguably your best team ever.

fricking LSU fans sometimes...geesh.
