It's really difficult to get an accurate read on the Patriots

They have no real weapons on offense, save Brady, and yet they are still somehow 10-3 with a good shot at finishing 13-3 or 12-4. As bad as they have looked at times this year, they aren't too far away from being 12-1 or 11-2. Then again...they also aren't far away from being 7-6 or 8-5 either.

I wasn't surprised to see them struggle with the Texans.

a road game following a huge come from behind win against Denver.

but today's game did surprise me.

Losing Gronk hurt but they've also lost Wilfork who was responsible for solidifying that D-line. Other than Brady, they are the most important players on that team.

They could also be 8-5 or so. Lucky fricking bastards.

Seems like if you're beating them, you're in trouble.

Now that Gronk is out again, they're back to being a team of mediocre 21 starters + Tommy. It's not possible to get a read on that.

Brady is a fricking beast, that's all you need to know about the Pats.

They aren't that great, very lucky to not have at least one additional loss. They could have been one of the best teams in the NFL, but the injuries are just too much to overcome. I don't see them as serious contenders if Gronk is out for the season (which certainly seems to be the case at this point)

Beat the great Saints. Lost to the crappy Panthers. Tough to tell.

As long as Belichick is coaching and Brady is the QB, they'll always be a threat. But, as we've seen in prior years they just aren't the same team without Gronk. Huge blow losing him today.

This is one of the very best coaching jobs I have ever seen in the NFL. BB is so far above and beyond everyone else it isn't even funny.

It's been a good coaching job by BB but they've had a lot of luck. It's going to run out I'd be surprised if they win a playoff game. Then again it looks like they'll snag that two seed, win one home game and then anything can happen against the broncos

Belichick's done a hell of a job this season.

I agree. The loss of gronk certainly hurt. But I think there is one fact that they've certainly proved without a doubt this year: as long as they have brady and BB, they are capable of beating anyone.

that said, their games have been so puzzling all season. I wouldn't be surprised if they were 1 and done, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they won it all.

Without Gronk they're only a threat if they're having a good day

No chance they can win the AFC now IMO, they couldn't win a shootout with Denver
