No.it was not. Damn near every SEC fan knew Clowney would be a bust. Dude has no work ethic.

It was just another example of an NFL team falling in love with measurable and ignoring the red flags. Spurrier even called him out to the media his junior year.

What has Houston seen in a quarterback since 2002 ?

They gamble on already developed back ups like Schaub & Lie to themselves that they have a franchise quarterback

Schaub had several very good years. Absolutely worth what they gave up for him

Schaub was at least decent, he could play the position.

Osweiler cannot play the position.

He is flat out terrible. And signed a 70 million dollar contract.

Clowney dominated in college.

Did you watch him last year? I'm not defending him now or the contract they gave him, but he looked like he had potential last year. As a Texans fan it's hard to figure out how much of the blame lies with him and how much lies with the offense and staff. He looked much better running Kubiak's offense last year. Even last night he looked a lot better on the PA and stretch concepts that are a huge part of his old offense. Regardless it's painful to watch

A very QB friendly system that requires very little on the fly thinking from the QB.

Brock looks lost, and panicky in the pocket.

A big problem is that he freaks out in the pocket.

As soon as he gets pressured he loses it.

He played pretty well last night, especially considering he had a laser in his eyes for about half the night.

I don't know about that. The guy is under talented. His release is extremely slow.

I know that QBs are scarce, but this wasn't a guy who has potential to become a top QB, IMO. In fact, I think Siemian has more upside.

The real question is has anyone ever met anyone named Brock that wasn't a huge tool?

It's up there with Seth, Chad and generally Brad. It's like some kind of Chinese curse. You're born into being a tool.
