It sounds funny but LBJ's best chance at winning a finals with CLE...

May have been last season.

Golden State had a historic season, but they were inexperienced on the big stage and it showed a little early in the finals. They were ripe to be jumped on if Cleveland could've done it, and they didn't.

This season, all the fright looks gone from them. They've turned into this cocky machine now (not saying cocky is bad with how they can really back it up). San Antonio is also looking like a machine.

As a side note, Kevin Love's injury never really hurt them in the playoffs. Kyrie Irving's injury did, in that it cost them a ball handler, but all the elite teams are going to do is put Kevin Love in continuous pick and rolls.

They'd be better off using an Irving/Smith/James/Thompson/Mozgov lineup against SA or GSW.

Even if the Cavs win game 1 last yr, I just can't see LJ carrying that team to any more wins than maybe 3. If they were healthy it would be a different story, and LJ was superhuman but no 1 player can win the NBA Finals against last yrs GSW. Nobody.

The OP obviously meant with Love and Kyrie healthy, not just LBJ.

Lebron is an absolute loser, his fear of joining WC is his own downfall

The only way LBJ wins another ring is as a role player at 34-35. He's already declining in ability. His stats will plummet once he has to rely on jumpshots because he cant run people over.

Not likely to be a role player at 34-345, fwiw.

bullshite! What happens if , like Cleveland last year , GS is crushed with injuries (or just crushed by Steph going down)? Cleveland would be , by far , the favorites. Never win another Championship?! That's just stupid. He is still one of the top 3 in the game and he has A LOT of talent around him.

Great point. GSW without Steph Curry isn't even a top-5 team

Cavs would definitely not be the favorites

Yea not having a knock down shooter like Love on the floor didn't hurt the Cavs any. Especially when the Cavs were struggling to score and knock down the 3 ball.

A healthy GSW might not even be the WC favorites when the playoffs start.

Bron almost took down the Dubs last year by himself. If the Cavs are healthy this year, they will win it all. Bron will unleash the fury...end of story.

Thompson was a better fit for the Cavs than Love because of his ability to hit the offensive glass and run out in the open floor. Basically just being the more athletic player that did the dirty stuff.

No, sorry.

I'm as big a Lebron fan as there is. As things look right now, it's not happening.

I believe a full strength Cavs beats them last season. But that's last season. We have new information since then. GSW are clearly a better team than they were last season. Cleveland is not.

Wait. Are you saying Cleveland is not an improved team from last season?

Not only are they on-pace to improve their win total by 7, their per game + - has improved by 1.3 (1.2 per 100 possessions).

Not to mention, Kyrie was out for the first half of the season, the East has improved, AND the players and coaches have more experience together.

So while they're not better than GSW, they clearly look to be an improved team from last season.
