They lost, to subpar competition, no bs excuses. Cuts, injuries are a part of boxing. Many fighters win fights despite broken bones, etc.
The only reason Vitali never got knocked down was because of the absolutely horrendous competition in the heavyweight division. He's faced and beaten absolutely no one of true note.

Foreman was still badass in his 40's. very slow, but lethal powerful blows.

Garbage. An invisible injury like a broken hand is one thing, a visible injury like a cut is different. Vitali was lobbying to keep fighting Lewis, he couldn't prevent the doctor/ref from stopping the fight.

He would have lost sight in one eye if he kept going. His whole face was falling off. This was an old version of Lewis by the way.

Rocky Marciano was 5'11", 188 lbs according to his Wiki page (which I wouldn't rely on for real research but that's not something anyone would gain anything from lying about).
Ali was 6'3". He might have a better time of it.
The guy was right about comparing across generations but that works both ways. Without today's training and nutrition Klitchko might have just been a random big fatass back then. Later people get to build on everything earlier people knew at the end of their careers.

Larry Holmes couldn't beat a light heavyweight, Michael Spinks.
The Klitchkos are in reality a higher weight class.
I remember watching Holmes. He was a very sloppy fighter. His defense was very poor compared to Vladimir's.

Holmes was not a sloppy fighter in his prime. His first fight vs Spinks he was lazy. The second one he was old and got robbed anyone who watched the fight knows it now and knew it then.

I thought Spinks beat Holmes about the same in their 2nd fight as he did in the 1st.
Leonard beat Hagler decisively, and I say this as someone who was hoping Hagler would win.
Leonard outpointed Hagler by a wide margin and made him look sluggish. I believe he hurt Hagler early with a body shot that Hagler never really recovered from.

Leonard never hurt Hagler, you like the judges who were on the take IMO were amazed by his 20 seconds of activity.
It's amazing Leonard never lost in Vegas and was given every concession.
The second Spinks Holmes fight was robbery.
