Eddie Lacy is mentally retarded and went to alabama and has still managed to be a good NFL running back.

I've read that former Miami Dolphins' MLB Zach Thomas is considered a huge overachiever, because of his size and the numbers he put up in the NFL.

Jim Leonhard - A 5'8" white safety that runs a 4.63 forty somehow managed a 10-year NFL career and started games for multiple teams.

It bothers me how many punts he has returned.

No. Some people, like myself, thought he had all the talent in the world to succeed.

It's Drew Brees. He's shorter than Russell and has smaller hands and is not as athletic as Wilson but he's done okay in the NFL.

multiple 5k yard seasons, most consecutive games with a TD, 56k yards, etc is just "okay"

Rocky Bleier

quote:

He had done his duty, and gone to Vietnam. He was wounded there and had come home with a limp. But he worked hard and, after struggling for several seasons to find a spot on the Steelers’ roster, he became one of the contributing stars to all those championship seasons. He came through in the clutch so many times. Steeler fans still talk about high he jumped – higher than he should have been able to jump – to catch a pass in the end zone to nail down the Steelers’ third Super Bowl victory.

He finished his career as the fourth leading ground gainer in team history even though he only had five 100 yard games. He blocked for Franco Harris, he did little things well, and he could pick up tough yards in tough times. He seemed like the kind of guy who’d give up his body for a buddy. On a battlefield or a ballfield. He was indeed, an All-American boy, if not an All-American football player.

What the op wanted to say is
Russel Wilson is a black 5'10 quarterback. He definitely does not fit the mold of your standard quarterback

Hes one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL. Hes just short. I dont see how he is an overachiever.

Young with great talent around him. He got lucky where he was drafted. If he was drafted by Oakland we probably would not be talking about him. Just drafted by the right team.

I think he would succeed anywhere. He has a high football IQ and he is incredibly efficient on offense.

Besides, Seattle hasn't exactly been loaded at WR the past few years.

When Russel got drafted to the Seahawks, I definitely thought he was going to be another Seneca Wallace. Destined to be a career backup to the almighty Matt Flynn. Boy do I know how to pick em

Or as Watt likes to call it, "work ethic".
