It's about hockey so I figured it was OK on sports board.

Imagine playing without helmets today

Saw it last week on Prime. It's pretty good. Can't beat Paul Newman.

How the hell is it outdated? One of the best sports movies ever...and only underrated because it is hockey. The characters are amazing.

You don't get what he's saying? Nobody ever talks our cares about the movie.

Maybe here on the MSB, but even then, it's referenced.....shite, never.

Did you know...the writer of the movie is a woman? She wrote the movie based on her brother's experiences and stories in minor league hockey.

You shut your whore mouth.

Ive always wanted to see a doc of the filming as a 30 for 30. Apparently they just stayed drunk the entire time, and the Hansen Brothers only were in the movie because they loved Newman.

Well, it's a bit older, and possibly early for famous sports comedies.

Bull Durham (romantic comedy, I know) and Major League were in the '80's and about America's Pastime. Caddyshack was later than Slap Shot as well, and about a sport that most common men can relate to.

I still think timing and sport are why Slap Shot is underrated as some say.
