I would say so. It took a hit with Bonds' huge asterisk next to his name though.

Aaron is still the HR King in my mind.

Favre's consecutive starts is the GOAT sports record. The most impressive. Don't give a frick about "prestige"

Ripken's is more "legendary" IMO

Throw in Richard Petty's 200 career wins or his tie for 7 titles all time with Earnhardt.

Ripken's may have more prestige and aplomb, but Favre's was more difficult and more impressive. Not to undermine how incredible Ripken's streak is, just saying how much I respect Favre's and how incredibly underrated as a sports record it is.

No way. I don't know if you're talking about horse racing or baseball, but either way it's not even a record. And most people couldn't name the last triple crown winner in baseball even though it happened only two years ago.

Well answer me this one Mr fancy pants racing aficionado. Why come in the NASCAR the driver gets the credit but in horseracing it's the horse? Shouldn't the jockey get credit? Or maybe the Fords and Chevys?

Riddle me that why dontcha

Is this a serious question?

I started the question with "Why come..."

Of course it's serious

This.

The most "American" prestigious record in sports is Joe D's hitting streak.

Because it's so damn hard.

And I would say Secretariat winning a Triple Crown race by a full 31 lengths in front of the second-place finisher is up there.

Winning 18 majors is easy?

But I agree that the hitting streak trumps the HR record.

It's not easy...but if you're maybe the best golfer ever and play forever...it's about ability and longevity.

The hitting streak is ability plus some luck and just having an amazing season -

there are so many variables to not keeping it going.

I would call the triple crown and achievement or a feat, not a record.
