Is it dumb of me to think the USC hype dies real quick this Saturday? I think Gonzaga will roll.

No. SC is big and physical. That style of play fits the tourney.

No.

There are no locks at this point in the tourney.

There aren't even many locks earlier in the tourney.

In no way are they a lock to win, but this is a different Gonzaga team compare to those from years past. This team defends. In fact, they are the best (statistically) defensive team in the country (South Carolina is #2). Couple that with their usual efficient offense, and they are a tough out. Plus, I don't know if South Carolina's style of play will completely rattle them in light of the fact that they have already played West Virginia, a team coached by Martin's mentor (Huggins)

South Carolina always brings it on defense. This run has been the result of their offense performing as well as it has all year. If they continue to play over their heads offensively, then they absolutely have a chance to beat Gonzaga. However, Gonzaga might be the most balanced team in the Final Four

They almost lost to a team that missed 50% of their bunnies with WVU. If USC can match WVU's defense success, and be even marginally better than the Neers were in making the easy bucket, they can win the game.

I promise this is not sour grapes - South Carolina is a legitimate threat to win the whole thing if the refs continue to let them play this physical brand of defense that the other team can't contend with. It's suffocating.

The refs are letting them play and they are smartly taking advantage of it... much like that Louisville championship team a few years back or the Seahawks Superbowl teams.

I think SC finally blew their wad and won't perform well against the Zags. I hope so anyway considering I have Gonzaga and UNC in my finals and I can win some $$$

History doesn't favor teams like USC, but who knows? Gonzaga isn't exactly the profile for championship programs either.

I'm going to be honest, and this is from what I observed in previous games, but Gonzaga would have had just as good of a chance or better if Duke wasn't upset. Duke doesn't play good enough defense.

Florida probably would have been the easiest matchup of the three (Duke, Florida, and South Carolina) as they're without their top low post player. No, Gonzaga isn't a lock to beat South Carolina as long as the officials are going to continue to let South Carolina establish their physical play and aggression on defense.

no such thing as a lock. the only people who say lock are selling predictions.

My all time favorite lock was Wilt Chamberlain's Kansas in the finals vs North Carolina.
Carolina had no one who made it in the NBA.
IN addition to Wilt, the PF on Kansas was a stud in the NBA.

UNC won in 3OT. some pasty 6 5" UNC white guy hit on some jumpers. He was taken in the first round by Philadelphia and WAIVED mid way through the season. He could not guard your grandmother in the open court.

They will have a better game plan on defense than Xavier did.

I do not think the Cocks will leave shooters wide open at the 3 point line to double the post.

Silva, the Estonian and #24 will have their hands full.

USC can win this whole thing.
