Yeah, Google has some of his pictures instead of the motocross Marty Smith. It's confusing because when you google Marty Smith, his big picture pops up next to a DOB of 11/26/56.

Check your sources. Marty Smith was 38 as of October 2014

I like Marty Smith

He is a likable guy. I think that some in this thread don't like him because of his heavy southern draw and his mostly neutral commentary.

I brought something up about him earlier. I cant take him serious at all but I can't take 99 percent of ESPN serious.

Marty Smith is far from the worst on ESPN. Great guy.

I find him one of the only seemingly genuine people on the entire network. I think his segments/reporting are enjoyable because he seems likeable and is pretty straightforward.

He is a likable guy. It's just that he's so bad at his job. No true insight. Awful, awful interviews. Terrible transitions/segues, and he doesn't know how to come to a cogent stop at the end of a segment.

It's like some of you people feed off of being outraged. Why watch a show with Stephen A at all? You know what you're getting. Even dumb dogs can learn behavior and anticipate results.

i think he's awesome. he's a good change of pace from the usual suspects and he doesn't appear to have a natural bias to one school or conference like most of the espn clowns.

At least he isn't Rinaldi, the Barbara Walters of ESPN.

Back off Marty....the man had to suffer through many crappy VT games as a young man. That would scar many people.
