Owns the grand slam record, has won all of them at least 3 times, will win multiple more, could have quit when countries were literally banning him, etc etc

Is he now ahead of Wayne?

I don't think so. Gretzky was just so far ahead of his peers.

When you compare across different sports, all you can do is compare them to their contemporaries, and as much as I love the Big 3 and believe Djokovic to be the best of them, some of the Gretzky stats are simply insane. He is so far beyond his peers, it’s not even close

Look up the stats of HOW far ahead Gretzky was compared to the entire league for a 6 year period.

Don Bradman.

The statistics show that "no other athlete dominates an international sport to the extent that Bradman does cricket". In order to post a similarly dominant career statistic as Bradman, a baseball batter would need a career batting average of .392, while a basketball player would need to score an average of 43.0 points per game over their career. The respective records are .366 and 30.1.

In the last 5 years in tennis

Grand slam titles

Novak-11(banned from two of them)
Nadal-6
Nobody else with more than 1

That isn’t dominating?

No. Gretzky dominated his sport more than about other athlete in history. If yuh took away every goal that he ever scored, he would still be the NHL’s all time leader in career points.

Djok is going to end up with roughly 4-8 more grand slams than his closest competitor. That is DOMINATING. He isn’t close to over

He’s actually more impressive than Gretzky in a lot of ways because tennis is a global sport. Look at the players from all of the different countries he’s beaten over the years. Same way guys like Lionel Messi and Usain Bolt is greater than Gretzky. The competition in soccer and track and field is a million times stiffer than hockey.

Why does one get this luxury and the other doesnt?

Go look up the current tennis players with multiple grand slam titles. The list is very short

From 2021-2025, there will be 20 grand slam tournaments played

Djok is going to win roughly 12 of those or more. Which is a fricking joke especially considered he was banned for two of them

-Gretzky won eight consecutive MVPs at one point. In the NHL, NBA, NFL and MLB, no other player has won more than four consecutive MVPs.

--He won his 10 scoring titles by an average of 49 points. One other player has ever won the Art Ross by more than 30 points – and Gretzky won it by more than 70 points, six times

--If Gretzky never scored a goal, he still would’ve recorded 11 straight 100-point seasons and won four scoring titles.

-Gretzky is the only player to record a 200-point season, and he did it four times.

-Gretzky led the league in assists in each of his first 13 seasons, and 16 times overall – 80 percent of his seasons.

-If he never scored a single goal, he’d still easily be the NHL’s all-time leader in points

Djok will have a 10 year stretch of “tennis mvp”

tennis doesn’t track or care about stats, so djok has nothing to compare there. It’s just titles

Gretzky dominated with the likes of Ruth, tiger. Joker is #1 at tennis and is one of the best athletes all time but not in those twos class.
