Do you not understand how impressive of a ratio that is?

Novak Djokovic isn't facing death every time he steps onto the court.

Didn't Babe Ruth have more homeruns than every other TEAM for a couple years? I don't see how that can be touched.

Djokovic isn't even the GOAT living athlete playing a sport actively.

Katie Ledecky is probably the goat of goats, though nobody watches swimming outside the Olympics

Djokovic would have to be SO much better than Federer and Nadal to match Gretzky.

Not going to go into all his achievements but consider this:

If Gretzky never scored any of his 894 goals (an NHL record), he would still be the league's all-time leading scorer with 1,963 assists.

The top 10 highest point totals in a single season, Gretzky has 8.

He scored 200+ points a season four times. No other player has ever broke 200.

He will likely end up with 30-40% more grand slam titles than both of them

Djok is going to end up with roughly 4-8 more grand slams than his closest competitor. That is DOMINATING. He isn’t close to over

I agree

But until he does, it’s still Gretzky

She's not even close to being the GOAT swimmer.

Michael Phelps has 28 Olympic medals (23 gold)
Michael Phelps has 38 World Championship gold medals.
Michael Phelps broke 39 World Records.
Michael Phelps was great in every stroke.
Michael Phelps dominated 8 different events/races.
Nobody will EVER touch those marks.

In fact HE is probably your GOAT of GOAT champion, although comparing different sports, let alone eras of sports, is impossible which makes this entire thread a fools errand.

But as much as I respect the accomplishments of Djok, I feel pretty confident saying the GOAT of GOATs is not a tennis player who won fewer tournaments than Jimmy Connor, fewer Grand Slam matches than Federer and only 1 more Grand Slam title than a clay court specialist. He has stubbornly earned the Tennis GOAT crown, but he isn't quite in the company of guys like Gretsky yet. And yeah, his nationality and personality play into that somewhat (which isn't entirely fair) but it's more based on what I said above. He was slightly better than two of his contemporaries; that's not enough.

Well,

He was and still is the GOAT of GOATS.

Can't help it if you're melting over it.
