In your opinion, why did klay and curry have such a bad night shooting 3s?

Poor shot choices? Too much on the line? Defense was smothering them?

Defense. Not enough ball movement.

Defense was good but they missed some open looks you are used to seeing them hit.

Guess sometimes you just go cold from beyond the arc.

The defense was throwing off their rhythm IMO.

Even when they got open ones, they were never in that "god mode" zone they can get into.

I think cleveland played some of the best Defense I've seen in an NBA game in a long long time. They wanted it, they deserved it after the way they've played the last 3 games.

Because 3's are hard to shoot in the first place and relying on them against a good defense in that pressure of a game is even harder.

Yes.

I think Steph was shook. I remember sometime in the 4th he missed a couple of 3s left and right. He usually will miss short or long. That happens. If he's missing left and right he's not right mentally, physically or both.

Jump shot is the first to fade when the pressure is insurmountable. Those guys folded like a cheap lawn chair.

It's also harder to hit those threes when you don't have an illegal screen to help you get open.

Give LeBron his credit, he deserves it.

Cleveland played really great defense. If you recall towards the end of the 4th, Curry was guarded by Love and couldn't get a decent look to save his life. You can tell he was frustrated or rattled.

But fricking Dramond Green though...

They needed to change it up more, imo. Klay is incredibly athletic and he can get to the rim really well. Green and Barnes were really the only ones getting open looks and only Green could capitalize in it.

But, it really looked mental with them. They looked defeated in Game 6. It was really weird to see, like they already lost the series.

Klay was too keyed up early and never got in rhythm. i still think curry's lower-body injuries caught up with him but he still missed a few you'd expect him to make any night.

I think defense was a component. The physicality at least. However mechanically they weren't great on that end as a unit. They weren't crisp on rotations, recovering and help D. You heard guys like JVG and Jackson talking about it every game.

The Warriors just seemed mentally shook at times. Which gives credit to the Cavs. In a sense that too is defense. They got in their head and didn't get out.

Also rebounding. The Cavs just killed them on the boards and on offensive rebounds.

If nothing else these playoffs have probably swung back the recent wisdom that many teams have began to heavily adapt that you should almost conpletely concede the offensive glass for transition defense.

Cavs did their best job of switching off on screens and they did their best job of rotating.

If we are giving credit to the Cavs d then we have to qualify it. They looked pretty horrendous in the first half.

Live by the 3 die by the 3. In the regular season you don't have guys running through screens, getting a hand up, and playing physical. In a Game 7, the intensity and defensive pressure is turned up making it difficult on those guys.
