Soccer. I'd bring the USMNT their first World Cup championship and make a pile of money.

Fishing would be a close second because fishing for a living with a rod and reel is about as good as it gets, particularly if you're the best fisherman that ever lived. It would be so easy that you could enjoy it and make a pile of money.

Golf. Play all around the world at the best courses, and you can choose your schedule and the tourneys you play, take time off whenever you want, etc.

Baseball is also up there but the season is so long and you have like 2 months of spring training.

The answer is golf and it's no question

Arnold Palmer still makes $40 million a year, Nicklaus at $30 million

Tiger Woods in his prime was over $100 million a year, something Lebron or MJ haven't done yet, and has made more than any other athlete ever, and he's got probably 25 more years of making a ton of money. He's going to end up making $2-3 billion in his life off of golf and if we wins another major that number will keep going up. He'll probably make over $50 million a year for the rest of his life, regardless of what he does on the course.

An American tennis player that could pull off a Federer/Nadal type career right now would make an assload of money. IF Andy Roddick can make $30 million a year winning 1 majore and nothign else, while Federer still pulls in close to $60 million a year, a new young face that wins would make close to $100.

NBA because I would then be ahead of Jordan.

Golf would be cool too, hit up the European tour for a year or two.

heavyweight boxing
That would be a fun one.

there is a reason all the great heavyweights are playing in the NFL....getting punched in the face isn't that great(not that playing football is such a great idea).

To the OP, golf and soccer are probably the best answers, but being on MJ's level would be awesome as a basketball player....and have my summers off if I wanted too.

Not sure why so many are saying golf will save your body. You are very likely to have significant lumbar issues at a minimum from years of rotation. Many many more will have hip, knee, and shoulder issues. There are plenty of reasons to pick golf but it definitely catch up with you physically.

Soccer without a doubt. You could go anywhere and people will know you, and you'd bang dimes on the reg like they're a dime a dozen.

Everyone in the world knows who Michael Jordan is, and the vast majority know Kobe and Lebron.
i would bet there's more people on this earth that know Kobe and Lebron than Ronaldo and Messi. China brah.

Id bet the vast majority of Americans couldn't pick Lionel Messi out of a crowd. Lebron would be recognized anywhere.

I know soccer is the global sport, but they play basketball everywhere too. More people have television access to NBA games than la liga games, and basketball is bigger in Asia than soccer is

You're limiting yourself to America. A lot of the American guys are popular because of branding (along with being the GOAT at an American sport). They still, IMO, wouldn't touch (on a global scale) a Ronaldo or Messi. Some of you have a very contracted view on how big these guys actually are.
